Odd votes. Had we not shanked two of those numerous shanks the bulk of the votes would have been RFC players.

Wow. Did we lose by 90 points?

You'd think at least 50, luke.

Maybe it's an indication that we didn't have to do much to win. And then we did even less. We were well off IMO.

Yeah agree. Well beaten. If we had kicked a bit straighter we would have, well stolen it is too strong, but we would have found a way to win when we didn't play well. I actually found it a bit like a reverse of watching our old annual stirring upset or regular honourable loss when we were a bottom side. We'd play all over a good side, like Carlton did, but still only be a goal or 3 up and often blow it, as Carlton easily could have

Carlton pants us 13.8 to 6.10 from 1/4 time....sorry, but no way would the bulk of the votes be RFC way if two shanks managed not to be shanks. The last two weeks against mediocre competition we have played 3 good Qs out of 8 - not the finals preparation coaches would be after. Players need to knuckle down again and play the footy that qualified us for finals in the 1st place, rather than sitting back and waiting for the first week of Sept by which time form will be lost and a quick exit the likely outcome.

im not sure, but i think the coaches include the 1st quarter when giving votes.

i think the votes show a little where expectations are now. we lose by 10 points to a side in 9th spot cos we played bad. the blues win by 10 against a side in 5th spot and they have played well.

That they do but we were well outplayed for 3 of 4 Qs, thus RFC players would not feature in the votes given they were missing for 75% of the game.

Good post LTRTR

The top 4 in Martin Cotchin Jacko and Lids would all have a case to ask why they didn't make the AA top 40 given the coaches voted them as being in the top 40.

Interesting to see how this list stacks up to the clubs B&F.

I was thinking the other day, that coaches should pick the all Australian team. Similar voting system, via position(forward, centre, back, ruck) Exclude them from including their own players.

Do you think maybe some people wait for the coaches' votes to come out before voting on PRE?

Comparing the timing of the coaches votes and the voting on PRE, it would seem not.

I think it would be fascinating to compare the voting patterns of a secret ballot vs the current open system.
