PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Putting aside the frustration of watching the appalling skill level at VFL, some thoughts on how the RFC listed players performed on Saturday;

COGS - Pretty encouraging and the 2 goals from 40 metres a bonus and sign that the German treatment may be working. (Supported by Max Rooke's performance this year).

HUGHES - Good kicking and lovely leading but still went missing for big parts of the game, although if I was a leading forward in that side I would shot myself after some of their mid-field decision making and ring and ring a rosie game.

JON - Goodbye mate. Dreadful decision making and complete lack of awareness. You make Kosie look like Judd or Hodge in regard knowing what is happening around you.

POLO - Ditto

TIV - Don't bother nominating for the draft, lovely long kicks, a pity 50% were over the head of the leading forward.

RANCE - Promising without being brilliant.

CARTLEDGE - Good game but clearly one of those players stuck in the middle - very good in VFL, very average in AFL

GRAHAM - too slow and I am talking about his mind here as much as his body

CONNORS - Smart arse who needs to head all the tables in the pre-season preparation especially hard running and repeat running. If I was a Frankston player I would have run past him at the end of the game with a pile of sh!t in my hand to say "this is what your fancy play is worth"

MEYER - Impressed with strength, time, space and poise. Was able to shrug many tackles and stay on his feet. If he stays injury free worth another year

Couldn't see much else.
