How did Dutchy go Damo? Did he play a full game? Hope he got enough of a run to come back for the Brissie game.
Dutchy played the whole game and was very good.
Unfortunately, an easy miss from him and Flaherty
(both from less than 20m) was probably the difference...
that and a couple of crap umpire decisions - including
the one where Steinfort was give 'too far' after only
taking 5 or so paces (the kick was a goal otherwise)...
and a throw in the goalsquare from a Frankston player
that the umpy couldn't see... and... and...
But anyway... Dutchy was very good, Dragga has
improved much from his last few games and was also
very good. Vardy presented OK on the day, but didn't
particularly do all that much. Hyde was good, Kingi was
just OK, but those useless kicks of his hurt. Schulz
was OK, but I wouldn't play him in the backline for
any critical games anymore (he played both forward
and back).
I think Shir played today (no. 37 was out there at times)
but didn't do anything of note.
Coburg failed to take advantage of a 3 or 4 gaol wind
in the first quarter - the wind dropping off for the next
two, then blowing up again in the last. As can be seen,
Frankston were very wastefull in their scoring as well.
Best on the day were probably Steinfort, and Dutchy
+ Dragga. From the far away players, Talbot and Carlson
were again good. (they are up the other end... so
it's hard for me to see them
All in all, they played much better than the last few games and despite the loss, they didn't have any
major 'blow out' quarter: the improvment was there,
and perhaps we can get over the Bullants next week
if they don't stack their team with Carlton players.
Score line:
Cob: 3-2, 4-3, 6-5, 8-8-55
Fra: 1-3, 2-7, 5-9, 7-16-58
