Coburg, Melbourne
Coburg vs Springvale

Coburg: 3-0, 6-3, 12-7, 14-9-93
Springvale: 2-1, 4-3, 6-5, 12-11-83

Goals: Pettifer 4, Blumfield 2, Shultz, 2, Hilton 2, Owen,
O'Connor, Dragicevic , Carlson 1.

Coburg did well until about half way through the
last quarter, when they let Springvale back into
the match - I'm afraid they suffer from the switch
off when they think they have the game won - just
like another team I know that never buries the
opposition ...

Best of the Richmond blokes was (From a forward
persective) were probably Hilton, Schulz, and Pettifer.
Blumfield is much better this week, and Fletcher, Tuck
and Dragga were all good contributers. Houlihan
had lots of the ball - missed a couple of goals though.
Once again, Moore was good down back. Raines and
Roach were also very good - but this Coburg player -
number 31 - I think he's Leigh Owen was very good
as well.

In the first half, Coburg seemed to fall over at the
half forward line - should have been scoring a lot more,
then when that was recified, they missed a few easy
goals.

Pettifer kicked one of those Zantuck soccer type goals,
and took a few good marks - as did Schulz.

I also saw Kristian DePasquale there as well - I thought
he was supposed to be in SA? (He wasn't playing).

Wandered down to Coburg to day to watch most of the game.
Coburg were in control for most of the day and had a purple patch in the 3rd quarter.
At one stage they got 6 goals in front only to have Springvale come back hard and vut the lead to 3 goals with about 5 minutes to play.
I left at this stage but i'd imagine that Coburg just scraped home with a win.

Better players (Richmond listed)
Dragacevic- Did well all day.

Hilton-played up forward and played well.

Pettifer-played out of a forward pocket. Took some nice grabs, presented well and kicked a few goals including a ripper from mid air in the last quarter. Almost took mark of the year also.

Blumfield-very quiet in the first half, started to find the ball a bit more in the third quarter and looked just ok.

Houlihan-Was everywhere and played quite well.

Roach-Seemed to get better as the game wore on.

Raines-Not sighted much in the first half (may have been on the bench) but worked into the game and had a good second half.

Tuck-Played in the backline. didnt do much and seemed to have a touch of the fumbles today.

Moore + Weller + Jackson all played in the backline but none of them stood out.

Fletcher played quite well and got a lot of the footy. I have never really watched him before but am aware of his reputation as a poor kick, that wasn't something that was noticeable today.

Schulz- Was fantastic! You could tell he wasnt running 100% because of his hip or groin complaint. But his contested marling was a real feature of his game. He was marking nearly everything that came his way and he kicked a couple of goals. He also tried to keep the pressure on when he didnt win the ball.
Almost took mark of the year also and surprised when he finally came down from up there that he didnt have a blood nose!

Pettifer played a great game :D so did Dragga :D and Hilton :D but it was a great team effort. Dragga gave us a scare when he looked like he'd hurt his knee bad but after it was looked at by the doctor and went for a run he was able to play again. Tuck did well also and Daniel Jacksons gonna be a gun player.

Did anyone notice if Weller played?

He was named as an emergency in the Richmond side.
