Cogs is back

Bill James said:
Was it just me or did he look like he had lost 10 kg

Cogs was barely recognisable except for being the last one up from the bottom of a pack.
Perhaps he has trimmed down deliberately to increase his pace and decrease the weight off of his knees.

Most emotional thing I have witnessed. I seriously was more pumped than ever and had a tear in the eye.

Sensational stuff bobby.
We've been robbed of Mark's prime years through injury but he got through his biggest test on Saturday night.

You can see how much it all meant to him.
Infectious. :)

I used to work every weekend and never saw cogs play live in his prime/pre injuries.

But when I saw him calling everyone in to sing the song last night, and when he got all pumped up singing it, I was almost ready to start running round the house pumping my fists myself. Was great to see him back, I hope he can bring more to the table than what he did last night. If he can, he'll be very valuable for us.

Just wondering General....does he have to bring more to the table?

Could he be just part of the midfield rotation off the bench (I'm not sure he has the pace or penetrating kick to be a damkaging midfielder) but be more important on the list as one of those players who can inspire and get the boys pumped-up?
Just a really good "clubman"....one of those players that all clubs need....and sure, they can play a bit...but they offer much more to the playing group than silky skills and bags of goals.

You know what I mean?

While he is now 27, from time to time people who have a long time out of the game come back with the rest of the body in better nick from the forced rest and just so long as the original injury remains OK, Cogs may be able to play another 4 - 5 years and could yet be captain. As he was never fast in the legs, we don't have to worry about him losing that and it seems his brain and hands are as quick as ever. It is about time he and the team had some luck in these areas so let's all pray that he just keeps it up week after week. It will be interesting to see how he goes next week after all the adrenaline of Saturday has subsided.

I reckon Cogga is coming along nicely. Second game back after nearly three years: 21 disposals at 86% efficiency in 79% game time. Not bad considering. If he can stay on the track, I reckon he'll be a good contributor by years end.
