Cogs re-injured hammy

Sorry to say it , but it is going to take a miracle for this star to get back to what he was, 3 years out of this game is far too long.
I hope I'm not right but I think it is good night for Cogs.
There will be too many super fit kids competing for his spot even if he does manage to get back.

Pretty much my thoughts.
The worst thing is it's round 7, he'll likely miss 5 or 6 weeks with this injury, then he has to come back through the reserves for another 4 or 5 before senior selection, then the season is over.
He will have had this injury for the best part of three season and the worst thing is that it has occurred smack, bang in the prime years of his midfield career. He should be carving it up at the moment but this injury has robbed him/us of his best seasons.
I agree, very tough from here on in..

first post so go easy on me...

Can anyone recommend a game where Cogs was at his best? I want to track down some footage for my son who is a huge Cogs fan since he came to visit him in hospital - I had pinned my hopes on the little guy getting to see him in the flesh this year but sadly that doesn't look like happening at this stage. Haven't found much on youtube - any other ideas?

Ta.

Welcome there j.fo. The only footage that i know of Cogs on youtube is him shirtfronting Campbell brown, but it's not all that good, and you have most probably already found it. That Hawthorn game was a goodn though!

2003 he was unbelievable all year - the best Richmond midfielder since Flea IMO. Never been anywhere near that level since thanks to OP and knees. He got 16 brownlow votes so you can look up games he got votes in. Amazing effort in a team that won 7 games.

He polled 3s against Freo and Saints rounds 3 and 4, Ess and Hawks rounds 20 and 22. Also polled rounds 7, 14, 15 (close loss to cats at dome). He didn't poll but was instrumental in the big come from behind win against Hawks. Ahh the memories! He was such a gun. Could have been an all time great if not for the injuries.

You can get games on DVD from name a game.

Funny you should say that Skipper. Cogs is off to Germany on the 21st. Apparently it is a fully blown tear of the hammy (rather than soreness which had hampered him to date this year). This trip to Germany is being considered as the final shot.

Good luck Cogs.

Good exclusive there Bris

Good luck Cogs

Waste of money sending him to Germany!!!

Better of donating the money to the poor feral supporters who have to put up with watching mediocre
footballers of his ilk, for years and years!!

And before you jump down my throat, 2003 his only good year, is a long time ago in football history!!!!!

here here Diggler while at the risk of sounding negaitve its time he was Peverelled.

I thought you would be happy now the Govt is unlikely to keep forcing you to work for your dole?

Yeah your right on the money....... ::)
He's gone to get the Max Rooke treatment which has been a great success so far so we'll see how it turns out.

Reading the story on richmondfc.com.au it says that cogs is out for the season...i thought this treament was to get him back asap? Can anyone shed any light on this cos it seems they just slipped this through.

Surely it's just a misprint. :-\

Gee i am hoping so

It's more worrying when you read it on the official site than it would be from an outside source.
I guess when you look at it for what it is though he'll likely miss 5 or 6 weeks with the injury and then it'll be a while before he gets back to seniors anyway.
Year over basically.
Might as well put him on the LTIL so we can promote a rookie.
Whilst Cogs future still looks uncertain, hopefully the rehab can now go ahead without the pressure to get back.

Unfortunately some blokes bodies arent made for footy. Sadly, cogs is one of them. Best of luck to ya Cogs, but by now, i dont hold much hope for ya.
