I usually don't comment much on other clubs but I read in The Age that the Pies have purchased a $1.1 million house close to Williamstown as a home for 5 players. They will also employ someone full time to look after them.
What a wonderful initiative for kids starting out in AFL, and new to Melbourne, to share with their team mates while they settle in.
I wonder how players like Marty McGrath and Alex Gilmour would have gone if they'd had that kind of support settling in not only to the rigours of AFL but also to Melbourne life in general.
