Yes fellow ferals,thats it.Dont think they have been discussed much on the forum but they will be now.Why,you may ask?
As a kid growing up on the fertile farmlands just outside of Allansford,13 kms from Warrnambool,right bang on the coast where we had a dairy farm and used to catch our own crayfish,ABALONE,sweep ,flathead,flounder,king george whiting and snapper as well as the odd gummy shark(dont be jealous)also had curried rabbit,our own mutton,beef and chooks,a great big plum tree and.....used to listen to the ABC a lot seeing we didnt have video,live telecasts or pay telly....Smokey Dawson and Skeeta Davis were great to listen to I reckon.....as well as that guy Mckay.....Nowadays.Dennis Commetti certainly raises the theatre of footy as well as Gary Lyon and Brian Taylor....dont get to hear much of rexy in QLD...I believe he,s gettin a bit slow as a commentator.....who in your opinion cuts it as far as calling the footy goes..and who are the best radio channels to listen to when I get down there amongst it?Looking forward to your advice and input....P.S......I though Clynton Grybas and Wayne Carey were outstanding on fox footy last year....cheers! ;D

I agree that Grybas is good, McAvaney and Cometti too.

I find Rex Hunt used to be the most enjoyable to listen to when we were winning, but I found it difficult to listen to him when we were losing (especially when i was a youngster). Anthony Hudson calls the play well and is probably the best radio commentator I have ever heard.

Worst: Gerard Healy. He has had several years to improve his calling and just seems to get worse and worse at it.

Best is "Centimetre perfect" Commetti. Not one of Eddie's suckup's, totally professional and has some dynamite one liners.

Can't stand Robert Walls, Dermie & Eddie not far behind - usually offer loads of dribble and not much else. Usually watch the footy with no volume.

Depending on the game im watching,If the commentary,s gettin on my nerves...Ill just switch to the radio commentary.Would that work down in Melbourne,or do they have delayed commentary?

Usually a delayed telecast but even then the radio commentator sometimes make more sense LOL

Sorry Rhett, but your dad KB is semi-bias with Richmond games, however the worst was Michael Christian who had a terrible voice.

Anthony Hudson yells too much like a kid when he commentates close games.

Clinton Grybas is simply the best.

bruce makes we want to throw up when i watch the footy. amazing the amount of drivel that comes out of his mouth.

cometti is the best caller, i think youll find other commentators use his cork in the ocean and cm perfect lines more than he does!

the best thing about eddie is that he's from broady ;D
