Complaint about the Tiger Army

There are swear words and there are swear words though. I think some is fine at the footy, but some should be saved for the pub after the game.

My main concern with the language was the report (in the Age article) of the guy yelling a certain word to the Hawk guys over and over. We can be more creative than that.

sorry i am not aware of what was in the Age but i assume it was perhaps the C word, which I totally agree is not appropriate to be chanting such things, perhaps it's time for the police to step in a book ppl that behave this way, for offensive language, it might bring a halt to others doing it in the future.

the common thing i hear from the cheer squad and grog squad is wanker, which if gehrig is playing tomorrow night i expect to hear it often

the coppers could step in but people should be able to control themselves.

The Grog Squad's in my lounge room tonight ready for the WC v Scumton match to chant:

"Judd is a wanker"(clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)......"Judd is a wanker".......(clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)......

;D

I think this whole complaint thing about swearing etc at the footy is over the top. Anyone ever tried taking their family to a rugby league game or an English soccer game? You can't, thats how bad it is. There are some unruly people at the footy like there is everywhere. I see fights in the upper stands all the time. They're quickly handled. Personally Im grateful that you can take your family to the footy, that you can sit next to your mate who barracks for the opposite team. Overall the AFL do a very good job in controlling crowds, especially considering the size of crowds there can be.

when your dealing with young drunken idiots who most likely are trying to impress their mates it's difficult. It only takes a few to be arrested and word to get out for ppl to think about their behaviour. No so long ago racism was pretty rife at the footy but it's not something you hear these days.

I dont know why they wanted an apology from the Club. The grog squad has nothing to do with the club.

100% correct. i have personally been talking to the young lads involved in the incident and urging them to apolgise to the Richmond Cheer Squad officials as they have copped a fair bit over this as people think the grog squad is associated with them, which we are not.

However whether the boys see that what they have alledgedly done has caused a big stir, and feel remorse is a differnt story.

Id be expecting a very subdued grog squad tonite.... we'll be watched dont u worry.
