"The thing with game plans is they're quite different from club to club and Ben's probably adapting to the speed of our game - and we probably play a little bit more through the corridor than West Coast." Brian Royal

Brian made this comment after the Intra-Club Game. Am I going nuts? He is claiming that Richmond actually play a direct, fast style of football. I am so frustrated at how indirect our football has been under Wallace especially the way our HBF's and Wingmen continually lead sideways to get easy short possessions rather than run down the field to crumb off the KPP's.

I'm hoping that he has mispoken about a "new, more direct" gameplan we will be implenting this season cos' if he thinks what we play is quick I would hate to see what he calls a slow, chip kicking, flood.

I believe that the coaches Game Plan is the single the most important factor that will effect our performance this year and I will be watching carefully in the NAB Cup to see any squibs that run sideways to get easy kicks.

Just a bit of spin mate. Coming from this guy, nothing amazes me. Heard the same thing and just laughed.

That interview was terrible. Royal was running off at 100mph. Seemed extra nervous and uncomposed. For what reason I have no idea. Maybe he's media nervous ?

choco is right, west coast played a very high possession game.

And I have felt, since Judd and Cousins have left in particular, an indirect game as well. Have felt in recent times that their lack of a KPF when Hansen is out forces them wide and short when going forward.

Think you are probably right there Streaker...................

When we're on our game and in control we play as fast and direct through the corridor as anyone. It's when we are under the pump that we play ringarosie and keepings off.
Wet Coke seriously overpossess the ball, using almost costant handball to try and get clear space. Looks good when you have Judd-Kerr-Cuz on song in the midfield. Turns to crap when your midfield is mediocre.
