Have been a big fan of Campbell.  Jumped off him late last year and thought his achilles injury had finished him, but he proved me wrong and has been a key contributor to our side this year.  Early on his class really stood out, and along with Knights and Benny, and they were the the only enjoyment from going to the footy.

He is undisputabley an elite player.  People forget there was a period of 3-4 years when he was one of the most damaging running players in the league, around the time he was Brownlow favourite.  So I reckon the bit in the HUN article where somebody says he wasn't damaging is wrong in that it was the defining feature of his game for a decent period.  He changed his game during the course of career.  Another point of always really liked about him, he always slots set shots when hes got them, especially when we really need it.

All the best, and please don't throw me out of the Swan when I attempt ST's drinking rort.

Wayne

I would say thanks for the memories, but unfortunately for you and all Richmond people, most of your time at Richmond resulted in the team being unsuccessful anf therefore many unpleasant memories from a team point of view. So I'm sorry that you never got to enjoy the satisfaction of Richmond being a top team in the AFL during your years at the club.

As a loyal club member, I find it disappointing that players like yourself joined the club when it was down on the field, and many years later when you career is over, that the club continues to be in the lower part of the ladder. I hope one day soon all Richmond people can enjoy together our club being a successful team, and that it brings you some satisfaction to see all long suffering Tiger people being happy.

From your point of view personally, I think many Richmond supporters underestimated you as a player. I think you can be proud of what you achieved. Your intelligent enough to know that you weren't an out and out champion, but you were certainly a consistant and first class player for our club, and will go down in Richmond and AFL history as a great player.

Well done, enjoy life after football, and I hope we see as a retired player whos heart is still beating as a Tiger.

Cheers

Thanks Wayne

I would like to thank Wayne Campbell for his dedicated service to the Richmond Football Club.

His hard work and committment to the club has been very much appreciated.

My earliest memory of Wayne goes back to the same game in which Dunstall kicked 17 goals at Waverley. He worked tirelessly on the wing, and (I think) amassed close to 40 possessions, whilst the rest of the team floundered.

Thanks Wayne.   :clapping    :clap

Wayne, class , class , class.

4 B/F speaks for itself.

You are up there with the greats of the club in an era that was truly one of the clubs worse(on and off the field).

You stuck with the club when you could have left. Thats a measure of theperson you are.

The club will miss your leadership on the ground and off. You are truly a general and someone else has to take that up next year if we are to make another progress to RESPECT.

You will be missed. No question of that. Its a shame that in your time you played in only two final series and didnt enjoy the success that you would have wanted to as you are a team man, a man who deosnt crave individual honours but team.

Best wishes for your trip and i really hope to see you soon at the club as i'm sure Terry would love to have you down at the club in some capacity.

ALL THE BEST

GT

Farewell true Tiger hero 936 and thanks for the memories, thrills and pride you provided my family and I.

We all in Thailand hope your retirement from playing does not mean an end of your Richmond FC association and that you will be somehow (and belatedly) be part of that elusive Richmond Grand Final victory we all deserve.

Wayne Campbell....a true tiger legend!

An absolutely wonderful footballer who had good grace and humility off the field.

Your passion and contribution to the RFC will never be forgotten.

Thank you!

Wayne, you say its strange to see your name up there with Bourkey, Jack and Kevin. But mate you are every bit a deserving tiger champion. Thankyou for the years of hard work and peserverence in a team that had such little success. Best wishes for the future and hope to see you around the club when you get back.

Thanks Weiner, a fantastic career enjoy the retirement and best wishes for whatever you chose to do in the future.
