heard from a trainer down at Coburg that Cam has a big head head on his shoulders. Also a fair mouth on him to.
Couldn't care less if he can play footy.
This side needs a bit of both those qualities anyway.

Gee don't know if I agree with that Tigers of old. Many sides downfalls come in the way of players being cocky. I'm not saying cam is cocky, but a cocky player is detramental to a team.
Carey, Akermanis?
Nothing wrong with being cocky if you can deliver..

Doesn't sound like the sort of bloke that Collins would rate so highly. Some trainers I used to know used to have over inflated opinions of there own importance as well.

Fair point, I dont even think this trainer knows a whole lot about the playing group. Just saying what he reported.

Never trust the word of a trainer!

Not doubting your word Tigerman, just know a few trainers from my day who had bigger heads than half the players. ;D If you hear it report it no dramas there. :clap

Please excuse me if I'm incorrect about this.

Thought it was a bit strange the decision to elevate Cam Howat to the senior list, then leave him a bit high and dry without a chance to prove himself. Would have been very disappointing him, considering the lifting of his expectations then the fall-off.

Didn't see anything on the injury list to indicate a pre-match (v Collingwood) injury.

Maybe some one can shed some light on why.

Just seems a strange scenario, and I feel disappointed for the boy.
Didn't get a chance really, and hope it hasn't affected his confidence.

And what financial implications are involved in elevating him? So far we've elevated two rookies for a total of one senior game.

In hindsight the money would have been better spent on a fourth rookie.

Excellent point.

Elevation of the rookie list costs 15k I think,Howat no doubt would have been told he wasnt playing and no doubt would have been wrapped to be elevated and im sure there was a genuine reason

Suggests someone was doubtful for that game (Collingwood) and Howt was promoted off the rookie list as insurance. Wallace is an excellent people manager, I'm sure Howat was fully aware of the prospects of playing.

Not so small pay rise for the boy. I always appreciate a pay rise. And a boost to the ego. Can't feel too bad about that. What atto said about Terry's people management skills seems about right.

Will get his chance before the year is out , one would hope it is more then a token game.

He needs the chance to really prove himslef other wise it is has been a useless excercise but I cannot see the club stuffing this up.

If he is as some posters have desribed him a "poor man's chris hyde" then he must be an extremely poor footballer who could count himself very lucky to be promoted to the senior list

Are you implying that Chris Hyde is a poor footballer?
Have you seen some of his games this year?

BT.. poor is probably a bit strong a word . No one can deny that Chris has worked hard to get the best out of himself but this does not change the fact that he is a one paced one sided player whose decision making and skills are average His 10 goals this year have been handy but given that he has played in the front half pretty much all year and 4 came in one game the return of less than one a game is insufficient . I believe that his best position is that of a negating run with... and all the plaudits he received in the initial part of the season for having re-invented himself as a goal kicking mid fielder were a little premature. He is however getting it 15 times a game though what he is doing with it is what concerns me.I suppose what I am saying is that if Cam is a poor man's chris hyde there would want to be a hell of an upside to keep him on the list
