Meant to post this earlier today.

Congratulations to Dr Jeff Bond, now OAM.
(This is Australia's version of a Knighthood.)

For two decades of service to the AIS.
(And got paid for doing so, as well.)

They didn't mention, in the paper, that Jeff is now at the Richmond Football Club.
(Jealosy really!)

Congratulations Sir Jeff

No, can add the OAM at the end of his name on official documents etc...

Congrats Jeff, hope your Australia Day lamb chops tasted extra sweet!!

There's an article on the AFL website about this, and they mention he's at Tigerland now. So, not all bad.

"My name is Bond."
"Sir Jeff Bond"

Well if he can sort out Cousins' head and Hislop's aggression and make JON think he's an adonis, he can add the letters FIGJAM to his name because I'll worship him.

I think you will find that the equivalent of the Knighthood is the Companion of the Order fo Australia the AC (Kim Beazley recieved this on Australia Day - how I dont know)

The order, in importance, is as follows

* Companion of the Order (AC)
* Officer of the Order (AO)
* Member of the Order (AM)
* Medal of the Order (OAM)

If anyone is interested more details can be found at

http://www.itsanhonour.gov.au/honours/index.cfm

Regardless, it is a high honour that Dr Bond has received and he should be congratulated for it

Paul Collingwood got an OBE for making 17 runs in the 2005 Ashes series; honors blah blah :P

Don't knock Paul Collingwood.
He's actually a former Richmond Cricket Club player.

Infact, I believe he won the Ryder medal the season he played with the Tiges.
Reckon playing for the Tiges was what he got his OBE for. ;)
