Been trying to catch up on the boards this weekend and didn't realise that one of our much maligned favourites has barely rated a mention since the J.D. night.

I for one would just like to congratulate Kayne Pettifer on his mighty fine efforts this season.
He got a bit patchy in his last couple of games but he has steadily improved his overall performance during the last couple of seasons and been duly recognised by the coaching panel with a top five finish.

Another big preseason followed by a huge 07 may just see Kayne turn a few of his detractors around.
Well done Petts. :clap :clap :clap

Re: Congratulations to the other Kane.

Congratulations to Kayne, a terrific effort. He was obviously well rated by the coaching staff, and must have performed in the role they wanted him to do.

Loved his speech and little "dig" at Richo :hihi :hihi

Could you elaborate? ;)

Richo said in his speech when accepting the goal kicking award that Petts had provided the motivation to kick goals by saying that he had Richo covered in the goal kicking while Richo was injured.

When Petts went to accept his medal I think they said he was 2nd in the AFL for goal assists so Petts credited himself to Richo's goal kicking win by saying he fed Richo the ball like a starving puppy :hihi

...and he better win the Mark of the Year !!

1. i picked kayne to finish 3rd so it's no huge surprise to me.
2. kayne should not have any detractors anymore. he's one of out 5 most important players

Very true, but I think this is wishful thinking on the part of detractors.

I'll give him his due. He has improved. But make no bones about it, he still has alot of work to do.

he is still [unacceptable player abuse deleted] managing to hold his place in the team and doing it reasonably well while kicking enough goals. better second efforts and a better fiercer attack on the footy is required
