This guy needs to pull his head in big time.
Does not play for the team at this stage.
Pulled out of going for the hard ball as well.
Has a very long way to go before he makes it.

geez mate, he's 19 and played 1/2 dozen games. 2 this year. Stating the obvious he's got a long way to go.
But at least he shows a bit of spirit, he's still learning the caper.

In ref. to dropping Connors after the WCE match, I think he may have been injured. Not 100% fit anyway.
Is the type of player that could slip under the guard of opponents, but, doesn't appear to be a prime mover.

Pretty sure he gave his hammy a slight ping at trainging the week after WCE and was rested to make sure he didn't do it completely.

TW has to make Danny the fitness guys 2008/2009 project and get him as fit/strong as possible for if they can get that side of game sorted out I reckon Danny will even be surprised how much more impact he can have on the game. Or just pair him up with Foley

He could but it is unlikely. They will probably be scampering around looking to nominate someone that they have just realised has played most games this year but they have forgotten about completely, like Harry Taylor.

It wouldn't matter for next year anyway, he will still qualify. The criteria are 10 games or less and under 21 on Jan 1. IIRC, several players have been nominated over two or more years.

Cale Morton gets the nod for his 30 possession game against the Tankers.

Had an impressive 2nd half of the season.

Wish I had as much info as some of you guys as to why he's played so few games.

Dan's talent with the football has never been a secret, so I am guessing the coaching staff have had their reasons for holding him back whatever they are and they would know best believe it or not.

Let's just hope he doesn't look back and becomes a great player.
Promising signs but he's a long way from that yet.

Put him on a greyhound track and instead of a rabbit have him chase a six pack of VB.

Any reasoning would be bizarre for dropping him after his first game this yr against the eagles.
Leysy also notes the backing of the coaching staff there ToO, you were ready hang draw & qtr em' last week. ;D

I have no inside knowledge as to why he has been held back. However to me it looks as though;

1) he has a heap of flair & attitude & the coaching staff want to make sure he is more fully rounded (& grounded) before being given games.
2) he doesnt seem to work that hard defensively at the burgers (from the few games I've seen)
3) he didnt have a preseason.

Normally I'm all for promoting the kids asap, but maybe the coaching staff has got it right with Dan the Man.

Wasn't 'official' word it was a slight hammy strain? It was confusing and I think I registered my disproval at the time.
Still I don't claim to know where the players are at behind the scenes, that's the coaches job and the coaches are not stupid are they? Maybe they are ;D

They must have had some reason for him being sent back but we can only speculate.
Done & dusted now.

It is interesting that his Coburg form was his best for the year the week he was recalled.
My guess is that they were looking for a bit more from him. Looks like they found a bit of it this week. 8)

ToO, did Danny play for Coburg the week after he played against WCE? I to read the injury list and read the hammy injury.

I think it has taken him a while to get used to the professional requirements of an AFL footballer, but for some kids it comes quite easily (Deledio), others it takes a few years but they get there eventually (Conners)

There is no doubting his ability, just has to get his body and attitude into the sphere of a professional athlete.

I met DC briefly at the best and fairest last year, he seemed to me to be a good young kid who has a few rough edges.

I think he did play so as I mentioned there was definitely some cloud around the decision.
We can only speculate why it happened as he didn't have a bad game against WC that's for sure.

Sorry I can't hold back

He has all the makings of a GUN, that's right folks a GUN ;D ;D

He can join the rest, cousin Morton, Axel, Lids, Kazoo, Jack, I am loving this, is it 2011 yet? :hihi :cutelaugh :rofl

didnt know where to write this but does anyone know where i can watch a replay of the weekends game, i was working and missed it ???
i always like the look of conors and want to see him in action!
CARN TIGERS!
cheers

After the West Coast game, Thursfield was available and had to come back. Was unlucky for Dan.

They had the same dilemma as they have this week if Brown and Foley are available, someone has to go. I doubt it would be Connors this time around though.
