You've got to be able to take it as well as give it. Half the fun of being a footy fan. My Footascray Dad hasn't rang me yet and I'm worried he's losing his spirit. Out of courtesy I would have rang him to let him know the scores had the tables been reversed.

I love footy season...the good and the bad.

My best mate is a bomber supporter...so i went with him last night in the hope that essendon would lose.....how wrong was i.....he has been rubbing sh!t in my face about the tigers for years and unfortunately i have nothing. comments like:
* 'your best player you had to buy from another club'
*'your captain is a premiership player....yeah for another club'
*'havent won a flag in 26 years'
*'how many brownlows and premierships have you witnessed?'
*'you have pinned your hopes on one player (deledio) ... -thats healthy'
*'you have less members than the bombers'
*'tambling is a spud"

.......etc.................... by half time i was slaughted in the lockeroom and made my way to centerfold and the dallas...gee what a night!

hahahaha i think its more the fact that Richie was talked up heaps before and when he was drafted and no offense to richie but he hasnt exactly set the world on fire...my mate knows tamblig can play but he is just sinking his teeth in wherever he can find faults...it aint hard. we currently have a $400 bet on who will win a flag first the tiges or the bumbers.....be with me lord!

i have made it a habit of not bagging friends and family who support a team we have beaten because if i did, i know i would cop it back twice as much when we lose to them. and we lose a lot more than we win. thats how you have to be to follow richmond.

i was in the locker room in the 4th quarter on friday drowning my sorrows. every time we play the dogs i always bump into a few old mate's i played footy with when i grew up (thats what happens when you live in the west). they saw me and called out my name. i looked at them and the had big grins on their faces. i looked at them, said a few expletives and walked away.

As sad and indifferent as this sounds i actually found Friday night quite comical as opposed to distressing. In fact spent the time having a good ol chuckle at how disgraceful, weak, slow, indiffrent, uncommitted and unprofessional this side was.

I no longer get saddened by these performances i just think to myself well tis the same blokes yet again and quite frankly nothing and i mean nothing that happened on Friday night surprised me.

I normally find the easiest way to deal with it is to agree. My boss is a doggies supporter and when I turned up for work Saturday he kindly offered me the sports section. I simply said I don't have to read it to know we were *smile*, I was there. They can always keep going but it's no fun if the person your bagging is agreeing with you. He still called me Richo for the rest of the day but I think he was expecting a bigger response.

Out of all the players he picked, I would'nt mind being called Richo. One of the few you can guarantee that will give 100% every week even if things dont go his way.
