A trier unlike many on the park tonight. Not a half back but been made to play there by poor coaching staff. He should play where his strengths are in midfield but for some reason the coaches are doing their best to coach all talent from him. The Richmond way.

If Carlton had developed Cripps at half back, he would be about half as good..as he is now..

Throw C Ellis in the middle for the year fair dinkum..

What happened to our policy of not recruiting players who can't kick.

Kid is sh!t. Never should have made his way to our list

Corey wears 32. The Ellis with the *smile* kick is number 5.

Really think there is some truth in this.

Needs extended time in the midfield. Dimma's gameplan allows zero exposure to the midfield.

We are following the same path as Vlastuin. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

A kid who has played a handful of games, sorry but look at our more seasoned campaigners.

Lay it on them not a young kid trying his best.

Miles off it, he needs to win his own ball first and then give him some greater responsibility. Hates contact from what I've seen.

:headscratch Where do I send your glasses prescription?

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Pretty soft from what I can see.

And way too many missed handballs tonight.

Gee travelling very well against his rising star peers. Disposal efficiency looking very good for a *smile* kick.

Throw him in and let's have a look shall we. Total different game playing mid-field. Is he scared

I think it may be confidence. Only one way to find out

Spot on. CEllis is timid and is afraid of contact. Have seen of these types come and go and tigerland. These types strut, show off they can kick but have no guts when the *smile* hits the fan. I hope he turn it around :spin

Needs to win more ball? The only tigers who got their hands on it more than he did tonight were Grigg, Cotch, Miles, Lids and Dusty.

Not bad for a 75kg 19 year old who's only played 16 games.

The number 5. Is the biggest CAT in the comp. he is another who will play 100 games but always look like a first year player for the rest of his career.

First 3 kicks missed the target.
He's game was over then.

It's turkeys like him that give Dimma the reason to play Hunt

His contested possessions are at the bottom of the class, this from a supposed inside mid. He's also padding out his stats with kick outs. I'm yet to be convinced he's an inside mid full stop, that concerns me given he's in his second year.

If you're content with an outside player lacking in pace then those stats will be sufficient. I would like to see a bit of mongrel, something that's a prerequisite at Melbourne these days. If Ellis turns into an inside mid I will be shocked, from what I've seen he will probably track in a similar way to Brandon Ellis, certainly not what we need right now.

Right, but over the season he's been a very reliable kick under pressure or no pressure. I don't think too many players go through a game without an errant kick here or there. And younger players are less consistent. But his kicking to position is very solid from what I've seen. You may argue his softness (which I dont think is a problem either looking forward) but I just can't see how anyone can question his disposal quality.

Are kick ins included in the individuals stats?

I'm not arguing whether he is an inside mid or not. Fact is he isn't being played there anyway. My point is he is playing well off half back and he certainly isn't a *smile* kick.

They are if a player kicks to himself, it's the main reason Heath Shaw racks up crazy numbers.

His kicking is fine when given space, no question. In the heat of a contest I'm yet to be convinced. Hope he turns it around but the vibe is another outside, one paced flanker/wingman.
