Corey "the slow boat to GC17" Ellis

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

The body is concerning, fragile. And he hasn't made the leap I hoped for this year.

Not a write off but body wise, has a bit of the Conca's about him. Not talent wise.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Out to the paddock.

Is he best bulking up to ad more contested ball to his repotire or is he best staying light and building a huge tank to become a hard running wingman type, using his foot skills to deliver out of the back half and into the forward half ?

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

I agree...out to paddock.
Did enough.
Did turn it over bloody heaps for 6 rounds though and kept getting caught holding the ball.
will be better next year.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

I think we want him playing outside-in, CC. Standing off the contest at stoppages, a la Pendlebury or Heppell, ready to swoop on a loose ball. With the split second extra time afforded, these guys distribute with precision (Heppell needs to improve his precision, IMO).

Corey has back that would turn Sir Mixalot's head. He'll need to be able to work from contest to contest, and we want him getting on the end of chains and kicking inside 50, but I reckon he'll have the core to hold his space under the ruck as well.

Nah, I reckon he needs gametime, if fit should play.

Yep he should be the first receiver - receiving from the likes of miles and Cotchin and distributing by hand or foot to the outside runners. Obviously he needs to win the hardball himself at times, but when the extractors are in the vicinity needs to position himself as their go to man. IMO he needs to build a tank as this is his main weakness.

Wasn't that bad. Thought he was quite good actually overall. 81% disposal efficiency. 1.23 clangers a game, almost at the bottom of the Tiger list. No frees against, so when he was caught he was able to either hold it in or get it out.

From memory H endurance was his strength when he was drafted.

Don't forget the lad is young and still learning the game at AFL level. Next season he will probably bulk up a little and build his tank whilst Dimma turns down the wick on his will for a contest

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

I just can't see it with this bloke. I just think he's so slow in movement and decision making. And I also think he's a bit soft.

Someone needs to help me see how he's going to make it, is there anyone whos a good player who you think he could be like?

I just think he's gonna be a bust like conca

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

I reckon he has OP. No idea if it is actually the case but he seemed to be moving a lot better last year.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Is the grey man playing..anywhere?

Get him fit and add Mackintosh and Yarran will help

Any first rounder after 2009 (except Rioli) is urgent to be traded this year IMO, AT. The lot. C Ellis first.

You're throwing shade at this kid every chance you get Jack. What is your knock on him?

Cap'n's acutely out of form.

You dont forget how to post though. He'll be right.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Still think CEllis is going to be a gun.

Must have an injury free pre-season to get him right for 2017.

I can cope with losing games. I've got calluses. But an out of form Cap fills me with dread.
