You'll have half a dozen at a minimum unavailable every week.

Depth a massive issue, in fact our biggest heading into 2017.

yeah, but over the last few years, it'd only be a couple out of your best 22 unavailable and 4-5 journeymen, veterans and unarrived youngsters, touch wood.

obviously, just about every side (except bulldog apparently) have 3 players who if they go down, they're stuffed.

for us, it'd be jack, chimp, rance, dusty in that order I reckon.

Even GWS would struggle if 2-3 of Mummy, Lobb, Cameron and Sheil went down.

I think we, and most sides can cover 18, but not 22.

Lloyd over Lennon ever day of the week.

Everyone fallen out of love with Miles? A bloke who puts his head over the ball and gets it 30 times a game.
I'm staying a believer. Starting 22 every day of the week. Not sure Hardwick feels the same but he wasn't alone having a slightly off year. And please don't give me lack of defensive pressure. Or maybe that's why Hawthorn got rid of Mitchell??

its a funny one blindy. there does seem a large collective love-falling-out with Milesy.

I wonder why too.

maybe it is a sign of midfield depth? cause hes pure inside mid. maybe it'd be great if hes in the 2's to cover Dion or Chimp if they go down?

depth is good.

Don't think I mentioned Miles?

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

RE Miles maybe because in the eyes of many hes seen as a one dimensional one pacer, which could be the main reason he was let go by GWS with so much midfield class ahead of him.

If Miles is pushed out of the first 22 with his hard ball winning then the side will be going very well id suspect

Miles is a wonderful contested-ball player, but he doesn't add much to the team at other times. Watching him against GWS in Canberra last year was horrible -- he just doesn't have the leg speed to match quick players. Put him against Selwood or Mitchell, and he'll hold his own. Put him against someone with pace or size, and he seriously struggles.

Yeah agree, can be a real liability defensively from stoppages.

Caddy and Meatball if they stay fit will make it hard for Snipper.

Enough back flank garbage. This boy is heading down the Vlastuin path of mismanagement.

Time to throw him into the midfield mix for extended time.

If he had the mass then I'd say go for it, at the moment he looks like he's still playing TAC football.

Yes, start Lennon in the 2nds to see if his attitude really has improved or not. Cellis might also need to start there, see if they can both show something worthy of promotion. Then we need to start a new trend...promotion based on performance not favourites.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

I liked Corey off half back with stints in the midfield.
Not flashy but he just makes such good decisions every time.

That half volley pickup off his bootlaces at pace and subsequent laser like delivery was a game highlight for mine. Class.
Has to play a lot of senior footy this season..

Being eased in. Only played 54% game time but managed 10 disposals and 6 contested and 80% disposal efficiency. This guy is ultra important to us because of hsi disposal skill and decision making. Hopefully he is more match seasoned after another pre-season.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Looks the goods to me. Only query on match hardness. Needs to be match-erect.

well then pleased that you took the Mr.Sheen out of the cupboard.

I thought Cory showed enough glimpses. Hes one of those rare richmond players that you get a few second of relaxing respite when they have the ball

I think the apparent new game plan will suit him also. He'll become a pivot/distributer, executing the kick before the big burst.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Tackled pretty well too which was a good sign. Has the talent, I'm looking for an increase in his desire to beat his opponent. Hopefully that will come with some confidence and by developing his tank/body size.
