Corey "the slow boat to GC17" Ellis

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

The kid just needs to compete more. He does not win contested ball. He spectates the contest far too often.

Unfortunately your judgement on Dimma makes me think your judgement on players is off the mark too!
What judgement on Dimma are you referring to ? Quote me ...

judging by the quality of your posting I will wear your criticism as a badge of honour.

His disposal & decision making stands out like the proverbial against many of his team mates.
The club is right to persevere despite the low numbers. If you watch him closely he near always gets it right.
We need more Corey Ellis' not less.

It's not unusual for a lightly built teenager. Doesn't trust his body yet.

Agree with this...might take a few dozen games before he really starts to get into it.....maybe another pre-season....but hoping he will get there....Beautiful kick and once he settles he will also find he has that extra bit of time to dispose of the ball properly. I think he has already shown he has good instincts, so he might be the type of player whose disposal really hurts an opposition.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Not convinced by this kid, seems soft as butter. At least two contests ive seen him run away from the contest, rather than attack it.

Sure has a nice kick, but thats the only thing he seems to have going for him. Not ready for seniors, needs a bigger body and more competitiveNess which im not sure u can teach.

5 contested possies, 3 tackles, you must be watching a different game. He's been the only positive for me tonight.

Agreed but I reckon he's still been among our three best.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Believe that Corey Ellis has had a bit of a crack. Did some good things in the first quarter and showed some commitment to the contest. But he's under the pump from WCE players and the poor performance of his senior team mates.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

He's not ready.
Should spend time in the 2's.
A slow skinny outside midfielder from Blair/FJ when we desperately needed hard nut inside mid's.
Symptomatic of our train-wreck list.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

If Corey's not ready then either are 18 other platers. Been one of the better players tonight.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Throw him in the middle and ask him to enjoy and create. Give hom some licence and get him out of the backline. Give him some confidence, give him a chance.
I am sure he was recruited to be a mid

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Reckon Ellis is still adjusting to the pace of AFL and the pressure involved.
Doesn't help his development that he is among a group of pretty ordinary players.

That is not Dimma's Richmond way. We do not do creativity

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Another small step forward.
Yes he is slow by foot but he is fast by mind and as he plays more time at the level he will develop the tricks that will give him the time he needs.

Found time in traffic tonight, looked beyond what was in front of him to release.

Must keep playing him.
