The proof of whether Corey turns out to be a good player or something much better than that will come over the next couple of years when we see if his possession count rises imo.

He is probably already worth his place in the team at 19 y/o and tracking well but get the ball in his hands 20-25 times a game and he will be an exceptional player.

The challenge to whether he'll be an exceptional player wont be getting the ball in his hands 20 to 25 times, it will be whether Corey can get it in his own hands.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Well done.

Hope in the next few years is another who is a part of the midfield rotations

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Though we might have over estimated his sublime, silky foot skills.... What I have seen is an awkward kicking style, almost helicopter spinning kicks.... had a close look Sat night v Ess and what he can do is perfectly weight the ball. Robert Harvey used to do this, the right kick strength to maximize the chance of his team mate marking / collecting the ball up the ground. A smart footballer who only in year 2 does not panic. Will love to see him post 50 games under his belt, could be a special player but will just be happy with his current contribution for now.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Liked his interview at training down in Hobart, seems pretty level headed and understands his role in the team at the moment.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Two contested possessions tonight, really disappointing return from a player who was labelled an inside mid. Don't want to call him a seagull just yet but the signs are worrying.

Better than Weller still

Needs to improve this dramatically. Got skills and nous. Still coming to terms with the hard stuff.

Crap. He is crap.
Completely crap

:hihi really? You really think that? Overall his game was ok. Certainly was nothing close to crap.

You have him mixed up with the other Ellis.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

Give the kid a break. Only 16 games in, can't expect him to show the way. is progressing.

Bagging the wrong Ellis.

Corey isn't even close to being the problem.

You couldn't fit on the Brandon Ellis bandwagon in hist first and second years.

I said it several weeks ago, Corey has a nice kick but suffers Vickerosis - no heart, fear of physical football.

Re: Welcome to the RFC - Corey Ellis

A trier unlike many on the park tonight. Not a half back but been made to play there by poor coaching staff. He should play where his strengths are in midfield but for some reason the coaches are doing their best to coach all talent from him. The Richmond way.

Nah. Has shown a number of times this year he's not scared to go when its his turn. But he still needs to build the body and get AFL-hardened. Is a bit light still.

Can't kick. Even under no pressure!
What happened to our policy of not recruiting players who can't kick.

Kid is *smile*. Never should have made his way to our list

Based on what exactly? If you're talking contested ball then Ellis is already behind Weller, something which concerns me given their pre-draft assessments.
