The start of the AFL season is usually one of the best times of the year. Hope, anticipation, warm weather, catching up with mates you haven't seem in ages for a few pre game drinks at the pub. Now it's just ******.
All true Harry. Might have to move out of this forum the way things are going.

Yep, we can now blame this filthy virus for ruining our footy. Who in their right mind would eat a bat anyway, as if that was never going to go wrong.

You can take my toilet paper but you will never take my FOOOTTTTYYYYYY

The way china has stopped the spread, all games should be played there.

Would have been better if they didn't start it in the first place!

Should have listened to that doctor...................

Doh!

two times 22 = 44

two coaches = 46

two doctors = 48

One runners/water = 49

One reporter (Martin Flanagan please) = 50

captains umpire.

if they need an ambulance, the runners step outside.

what's happened to creativity?

Reality here is

Actually 2 Drs per team and sometimes 2 physios.

1x AFL Emergency Consultant Physician and a Emergency Paramedic crew (State Service) for the players and officials only.

Then there's a plethora AFL staffers including emergency umps, and all the Champion Data peeps, Interchange officials, Time Keepers, Security,

At least 6- 8 waterboys per team and 4odd trainers.

Door Bitches for the rooms.

Match Commitees upwards of 10 odd people statisticians etc.

Majak Daw sent home with a 'common cold' according to the Roos despite no tests for coronavirus.

Hope the Roos squad aren't infected but we likely won't find out until after this weekend.

Have the AFL mentioned anything about the Brownlow this season?
Is it still on?

Play one round of footy n we could have an 18 player tie. Can't be separated on count back so lots of happy happy joy.

Ok have had a taste of footy. Time to shut it down now in the wake of this health crisis.
Sends entirely the wrong message re social distancing at a critical time in the face of this virus.

Test kits are extremely limited, he’d be getting “celebrity treatment” if he got tested.

Pretty much nobody gets tested unless they’ve directly travelled overseas, made direct contact with a confirmed case, or they’re a health professional in contact with suspected cases.

Extremely few exceptions as they’re likely projecting ahead for future triage needs knowing our trajectory is the same as Italy’s.

Gill has come out and said that if ANY player tests positive to Cov-19 the competition will shut down for 30 days up from the 14.

Whole comp.

They know they’ll be shutting down for a couple of months I reckon, so it’s easier to just make it 30 days and catch a couple of players over the winter so there’s less games in empty stadiums.

~700 cases already
~24% increase per day

Lockdown measures take about 2 weeks to slow the exponential curve seen elsewhere.

Before a total lockdown, it’s pretty certain in 2 weeks we’ll already have about 14,000 confirmed cases, with 100,000+ true cases waiting to be diagnosed.

Strict measures next week will slow that spread, but even then it is still likely to reach 50,000 confirmed cases within a month from now, plus many more true cases lagging behind.

AFL shutting down for 14 days would be more stressful for everyone too.

14 days means everyone takes a week off, then start preparing for their opponent again, then gear up for training and games again.... and then someone else will test positive.

30 days means everyone really does take a step back, and further positive tests won’t feel like a disruption.

And he say 123 that even if the season takes 40 weeks to complete!

They are factoring in not only 1 but maybe more disruptions???
