Talk about irresponsible, there are I think they just said 200 aussies flying into Perth after being on yet another cruise, guess where they were cruising?? ....... Italy, are people really putting money ahead of their health, couldn't get a refund so went anyway??
They should put it this way. If you travel to a country that is on the virus watch list you will pay for your extraction, quarantine and treatments. I bet this will be a lot more expensive than losing your deposit.

60 minutes sobering, scary you name it, Australia ain't seen nothing yet.

China, scandalous what they have done and Trump not far behind.

A pamdemic expert in NY reckons July/August is when it will really hit Australia.

Virus may be mutating to infect younger people?.

60 minutes at their alarmist best but this time we have right to be alarmed.

I'd rather punch myself in the nuts continuously for an hour than watch that 60 minutes Fear Porn.

One thing that really gets me is that in late January Australians were returning from Wuhan and were sent to Christmas Island for quarantine.

Then, the government allowed anyone coming in from anywhere else, those on the petri dish of a cruise ship, just come in to Australia and only later did we have voluntary self quarantine.

Only now are people being taken to quarantine if they are coming into the country.

Talking about dropping the ball.

Hindsight expert. There'll be plenty of time for finger pointing. Assume I ciuld scroll back and read plenty of your posts calling for travel bans back in Jan?

One of the biggest fails of any government is holding the womens 20/29 final. 80,000 people at the MCG, what a potential disaster that was. And the grand prix fiasco.

I'm sure a thorough review will be done and there will be all sorts of changes to policies in the event of a similar outbreak.

So if you want to bring a horse or any animal to Australia from most foreign countries they are subjected to quarantine restrictions.

But until two days ago with the potential of a pandemic disease occurring in China we were letting about 1000 people a day in from China.:bash

Some of us were MD Jazz. I posted that in January.

We finally grasped the big picture a couple of days ago.........we started temperature testing at airports.

Yesterday I saw SCOMOs presser, 60 minutes, TV , radio , newspaper and social media...information overload. It’s so hard to work out the truth.
My take is that there are shoots of good news, the growth rate has slowed, but if we take the foot off the peddle that will soon change.
The 6 months has always been a time period where we will have some form of restrictions in. What is likely is that there will be some social distancing and pretty severe restrictions on travel for 6 months or so.
Even if we are successful in slowing down the virus many parts of the world are not so we can’t import a 2nd wave.
I would have thought the best case scenario is to get the virus under control enough to be able to loosen restrictions to a point that there can be some economic activity but to maintain fortress Australia for a longer period.
We aren’t anywhere near that yet however

In someways this may all be a positive in the way the world looks at its hygiene as we move forward, not doubt a lot of it is going to make life’s daily routine slower, just like 911 made travelling so much more painful, the world has definitely changed again

Trump on the the potential US death toll:

If the US can hold the death count down to 100,000 it will show the country had done a "very good job", he said o_O .
