Cotchin on the mend...

I would have posted this to the rumour board but thought I'd flick it up on the main one to give some people a lift for the afternoon...

Just spoke to a mate who helps out at the club - conditioning, etc

He said that Cotchin is "finally on the mend" - sounded like the club / fitness guys were a bit frustrated that it had taken some time to settle with the achiles, but that we could expect to see him up and about sooner rather than later!

On an aside - A lot of seniors will be rested this week - dont expect Richo, Cuz, Brown, Simo, etc

Collins and Connors both playing - this got me a little excited, Gourdis a possibility.

Also - forgot to mention...

Coughlan is coming along well - but no chance to play on Friday night in Shepparton, probably not the week after either...

That's a good report to hear GT84.

Sounds like we will have some very good competition for spots in the Rd 1 team.

Hope Connors & Collins do well.

And the week after that?

That's usually the week of the break before the season with no AFL practice matches, so he'd have to get AFL approval to play in the VFL if Coburg have a praccy match. Can't see why they wouldn't grant it.
As to if he would be right to play.... I don't know.

Actually the weekend after is only 5 days before our Thursday game, so anyone who plays that weekend would have to be in real doubt for the Rd 1 game against the Blues.

Um, I would hope like heck the club would put the players health first and then maybe the kid might heal properly instead of having to feel rushed to get back, I hope the only frustration would be for the welfare of Cotchin...

Maybe I am over reacting to your take on it, but the health of the player should come first IMO.

good news on Cotchin, looks like most our injuries are sort of short term which is great!

Absolutely, Injuries DO dictate your year! ;)

Yeah, you probably are!

Cotchin would be rushing himself back, not the club - wrong emphasis in your post I'd reckon. With that ability, he'd be just itching to get back to it..............
