Could Deledio be the next Ottens?

iin reply to TIGERS #7 on the first page....

you worry about this EVERY DAY?? you have a bit of a problem i think.......

you must have nightmares when you think about real issues.......

sheesh hes just the best player on the list and still developing. if developrd properly he will be special.

Deledio himself is not a concern its what Wallett does with him and to him that is a concern.

RFC is proven to be unable to develop young talent, the leadership and the culture at the joint is not conjusive to getting the best from talented youngsters.

At a better club both Brett and Blinga would be more advanced than they already are by now ive got no doubts about that.

no way, ottens is a lying money hungry dog.
we drafted him, nurtured him,and helped turn him into an all australian CHF.

he was quite happy to keep playing for us after the 2004 season,i even remember him being interviewed not long after the last game of that season and he said he was happy to stay at richmond.
he even admitted he was being paid on potential.

terry and co. then went to him and asked him to take a pay cut, because he wasn`t performing up to what his pay packet was, roughly $500,000 a season, and all of a sudden he wanted to leave because he wasn`t enjoying his footy ::)
that`s why terry came out and said ottens hadn`t mentioned leaving until the issue of money came up.

he deserted a sinking ship and lied about it.
ottens is a dog!

sorry i had to get that off my chest.
anyway...
i believe lids has got more honour than ottens, not that it would be hard.

but he is going to be a 250+ game player for us,a regular finalist and hopefully a premiership player.
people forget he was coming second in our carlton draught player of the year award last season before he broke his hand and missed 6 weeks.

Brett Deledio will be a Richmond legend by the time he retires.

A dog who went to another club and won a premiership and hit great form.

It was unfortunate for Richmond, but can you hardly blame Ottens, and do you think he beleives he made the wrong decision?

People may jump on me for this, but does anyone on here worry that Deledio will get sick and tired of playing for us and bail for success elsewhere???

Cannot help but think that if he was playing for the Cats, Saints or even the Woods, that he could win both a Brownlow and Premiership....
Waste of brain space thinking about it. Waste of a thread.

Could Deledio be the next Ottens? Get the club doctor to check if Lids has a pea instead of a heart.

My only real concern would be if we lost Lids for nada. If he wanted to leave I would say "good riddance" provided we were duly compensated. If he wants to stay a Tiger for life then we treat him like family. BTW - He could only truly become the next Bradley if he was as thick as a plank and let his Mummy make all his decisions.

this is a topic worth considering.......

a great player in a team that currently shows not too many signs of playing finals regularly is a worry at contract renewal time, especailly if a top 8 team offers him some $$$$ Remember......... he is a very high draft pick and this has not gone un-noticed, he would def be sought after by other clubs, no question about that.

he is one of our better players and has a lot of promise to become something really big, we cant afford to lose him cheaply, better still pay himm $$ and keep him. but at the end of the day football is a career and a business and all players need to look after themselves financially.

sure if a top 8 team offered him say 10%-20% more than rfc offer him at contract time, then his mates, love for the club and the fact of trying to play at one team for his career might win out, but if a top 8 team with good finals potential offered him 50% more than rfc plus finals possibilities, from a career point of view, which one would you choose?

Most interstate clubs would have more than enough $$$ as wells as Carlscum, Pies and Dons might also be interested..........

That would be a very sad day for rfc and I hope it doesnt happen............

All the furphy stuff about "happy until the paycut" is just a smokescreen- part of the means of giving him the arse so we could get some draft picks and not have his form at the new club bite us on the backside.

Ottens got the arse.
