could Kingy play Midfield?

2008 in backline again would be preferred. Let's create a settled, decent back six.
Well said T2011 whats wrong with having a hard at it attacking back pocket player , we now seem to have a half a dozen young players who actually like to play physical attacking footy ,respect is earned the hard way, when your opponents come of the ground bruised as well as beaten they remember it next time .
Cant wait for the start of the season

Actually he came to Richmond as a centreman - he was probably the best in the VFA at the time.

But there was one obstacle in his way at Punt Road - Billy Barrot. Hafey put him in a back pocket where he started to get regular games. In about 73 he began to be played as a ruck-rover and, of course, in the GF he kicked 3 goals in the 1st quarter.

Thanks.
Yeh, I remember that now.
I also remember, as a boy, always seeing Sheeds watching Prahran on Sundays.

Guess we see things differently.

Kingy is more value to us on the field not on suspension.

so what if he gets suspended, worry about that later

johnson went the soft option and thats why he's the worst captain in the afl by a long way

Happy to see Kingy stay as a hard running back pocket.
The best clubs have stable and settled backlines and with so much attack created from the last line nowadays the back six really need to trust and link up flawlessly.

Agree TM. I also think that successful clubs defensive half, especialy the back 3 need that time to develop that trust and understanding in each others game.
I know there will be rotations but would like to see strength and stability there atm.

Grabbing an opponent by the jumper while he is on the ground and roughing him up is not tough nor inspiring, but it should be done in small doses.
Toughness and inspiration comes from fearless play and fierce tackling/bumping/shepherding. Once you can do all of this then add a bit of arrogance!

i know what your trying to say and i agree with it but when jake was in the scrap with west and a few others instead of johnson coming in for support he just tried to pull jake away and it looked pathetic imo

Actually Johno was trying to do the right thing. He just mistook Kingy for Westy :(
