Could Riewoldt end up a Robert Murphy type?

They do play in a similar way but Reiwoldt is a lot taller than Murphy (genuine KPP height) which should make him more effective.

Murphy is alot more skillfull thab Reiwoldt.Would love to see him get to that standard but I doubt it.

Thought he had a terrific 2nd quarter.
He was everywhere and that grab was a speccie.
Definately shows a heap of promise but will need to be in peak fitness to have a major impact in the future one feels.

As far as the Murphy comparison goes, I don't think he's as quick or agile.
I see him more like Scott Lucas if he can bulk up.

From the outside it looks like his fitness/body have improved a fair bit from 07 to 08, so hopefully another injury-free pre-season will help with further.

Well he's got the skills already, so he's off to a good start but it will be interesting to see if he loses what little pace he already has when he bulks up.

Last year Browny said at a function that Reiwoldt will go really well when he "loses all of his puppy fat" and then does work with their fitness guru to get some burst or explosiveness through his core. He thought that he'd be able to add some upper body strength and get a little bit quicker (not a heap though) if he did that.

Browny said that he only needed to be a touch quicker, because he can usually read the play better than most defenders and get a step on them there. Then he'd just need that bit of extra quickness to keep himself in front when leading.

Hard to compare him so early in his career.

Although, he has taken a step forward this season and i like what I am seeing from him so far.

He will be a good contributer.....how good is up to him.

Agree,Jack still should turn out to be a good player

He is deceptively tall.

The Foxtel commentary erroneously said he wasn't tall enough to make it as a KPP, but could develop into a handy HFF or tall midfielder.

Yet in a recent article in The Age, they said he was taller than cousin Nick, who doesn't have too many problems being tall enough for a KP.

Much better last night, but still doesn't lead to the right places, and often goes too early, thus leading into congestion. Hopefully this will be rectified.

more effective would make him the best half fwd in the comp, he isnt quite quick or clever enough to be compared to murphy as yet.

I think he is clever enough, but he is no where near as agile as Murphy!

I expect him to be a Jack Reiwoldt Type

No Murphy is a star.
Jack will just only ever be a player a good player but just a player.

Murphy is a star this year, which has been his break out year. Before now he's been inconsistent, albeit with the 1 year off with injury. He's 6.5 years older than Jack. Give Jack another 4-5 years and it wouldn't surprise me if he's at that level.

people say that Jack is not tall enough to be a KPP because he doesn't actually look big.
He is a geniune 6"4, the same range as Nick Riewoldt, Fevola and Pavlich

Dont understand why people are so shortsighted in regards to key position players and how they fill out. It will take Jack 3-4 years to put on another solid 5-10 kilos. I think he will end up around the 95kg range. It would be intersting to pull out stats on key CHF's and compare their weight currently to where they were and their first couple of years. Richo's hair weighed more than he did in his first 2-3 years. He was the definition of a swizzle stick as far as I can remember. I don't recall anyone saying that he was going to be a HFF
