Cousins onfield Leadership

To me Cousins looks like a man who's really struggling with his demons. In the footage from before we drafted him he looked cocky and dare I say it in denial. Now he looks like he's doing the hard yards. Perhaps facinig the fact that no club wanted him might have finally brought his situation home. I'm actually really impressed by him, when in the past I didn't think much of him even prior to the drugs issue was raised.

I reckon Ben is looking like a real treasure for us in leadership and skills terms. His fight with addiction may be a positive to his maturity in the end. I hope his body holds out and he can feel he really belongs.

you are right ..there is no fooling me....

small things really do amuse small minds.....

Glad you're willing to accept humble pie :)

I can understand why so many were against getting him, but I always valued the leadership he'd bring above any of the potential risks (eg the argument "he'll expose the kids to drug figures" was never anywhere near as strong as these postive qualities he brings).

Happy to eat humble pie on this one Benny.

I was against getting Benny for one main reason and that is that he had lost his way big time and I really didn't believe he could get himself back on track. I have never for one minute doubted his talent or leadership. He is a Browlow medalist and premiership player, that was never in question.

However he showed signs the other night that he has lost nothing other than a bit of match fitness and I have not doubt he will regain that soon enough.

Full credit to him and the club, although there is a long way to go, but lets say I have a feeling this could be one journey I will be happy to be along for the ride. ;D

If he is then he might just make it back.
Early days for Cuz but going well to date and pleasingly beyond my expectations to this point.
So far good so good for Ben. More importantly, so far so good for Richmond.
