I think it was after the 2002 season that we had the opportunity to take Bolton in the pre season draft.He had indicated publicly that he wanted to go home to Sydney after a few years at Brisbane.We passed altogether as I recall and Bolton got his wish.
The thing I couldn't understand was that the public reason given by the Tigers was that we couldn't aford to offer the few 10's of thousands that Bolton sought over the min player payment payable, for a player of his age and experience.Yet this was just after we had made a highly publicised offer to Lappin to join us. As we know he didn't so where did the money go..?
