Reading both your posts over the last two years, "play the kids" at whatever costs. "just get games into them". Well i totally agree with you. So whats the problem why are you still whinging?
The results this year don't show it, probabley won't next year either, but wallace still has to show true balls and keep going in the direction he has started. Clarkson looked a "dill last year" this year may be the coach of the year. Against sydney "the Conner to Edwards to Reiwoldt says the recruiters have finally got things right.
Three years ago Geelong had so many kids on their list they didn't know who to delist, I remember the pres regetting who to delist. Gee i reckon we've got some great kids, just keep turning over the duds, the wheel will turn!

LMAO

hughes gets 5 seconds so does Riewodlt. Danny Meyer gets chopped after 1 game. It takes them 18 rounds to debut conners and they crucify MCgune and Thursfield by playing them on gorillas when they are stringbeans We are *smile*ing useless because Wallace refuses to make hard calls on hacks

What drugs you been smoking?

Ps Before the seasons out i know we would all like to see the silky skills of Casserly. And maybe a little cameo from peterson. So we have to back wallace and miller, and hope they show the faith by not going short term fixes this trade period.

Make your mind up. One minute you’re screaming because some aren't getting enough game time, and then we're crucifying the young guys. If Wallace makes the hard calls on as you put it the hacks what will happen? We'll have all our young guys in the team and crucifying them all at once against harder more experienced opposition. You can't have it both ways.

Just because they are young it guarantees nothing.

Dont you read what you quote....."There are no guarantees...." Maybe another birthday has passed you by and you are becoming forgetfull.

But agree with TigerGoddess there is just no pleasing some people round here.

Spot on Oldie no guarantees with the kids.

That said now that that the Club is in more sh!t than the proverbial Werribee duck, the time for the kids is now, and i dont prescribe to the theory that the likes of Krakouer Tiv etc and the other duds need to be given one last chance to show themselves worthy of remaining, theyve had ample time .............. too much in some cases to show their wares and failed over time .................. they must all go.

Yep im happy the kids are getting a go at it for sure of course i am.

;)

If Wallet allowed me to assist him with list management at years end in regard to axe swinging id be even happier tho ;D

I guess the thing is craigo whilst there's no guarantees with the kids there's even less with the duds.
Kids it is.

I always told you Terry leans to the darkside. He wants to be a success at all costs this guy.
I think it will be an extremely active off season at the end of '07.

For a man who leans to the dark - hes got one hell of a suntan Oldie :hihi

He aint dark enough yet for mine and this end of season list cull and draft will make or break Wallaces tenure at the club imo especially with list management.

Get it wrong again and flounder like this year without a freshened up better structured list and it will cost him his job come round 18 next year especially if one K Sheedy isnt at another club.

I dont think the side will win to many next year anyway but if the list is turned over and better structured thats fine by me and will allow Wallace to see out his contract. Long term as opposed to short term is the way to go but the club must start heading off in that direction without the duds that are holding the joint back.

The lack of picks 3 in 05 draft was and still is unforgiveable and an unmitigated disaster.

I hope your right but im prepared for more draft and trade angst to be honest especially with Miller involved, i cant see Wallace being tough enough to rid the crap from this joint as is required now.

If we draft another stick thin flanker over a Rance i will *smile*in go postal i tell ya.

;) 8)

I can't see us taking a kid with pick no 68ish. So for us to get a 6th pick in the draft, we probably need to trade for earlier picks.

I can see us keeping a Tivendale, P Bo and Hyde for another 12mths, so that they can be delisted the year after. Might not please a lot of folks, but we need to be realistic about the depth of talent we'd find that deep into the draft. Look at picks 60+ and find out over the last 6 years, how many kids have been taken, and how many have gone on to play 20 games.

its easy to play the kids now when the games dont mean a whole lot of *smile*

ill be happy when terry gets some of mick matlhouses balls and debuts 3 kids in one game in the hot part of the season

not holding my breath though

Considering where we've been on the ladder all year we haven't really had too many 'hot' parts of the season so would you rather he waits till next year? ::) Edwards debuted round 4, Reiwoldt debuted round 9, Connors had been a bit up and down in form and then got suspended and Casserly has been hampered by injuries, not too many others who's form has warranted selection to make their debut. Also it's a lot easier to debut kids when you have a capable side around them.

This is the crux of it oldie. He has an ego the size of a house, as most people at that level do, but I don't believe he will let sentimentality stand in the way of success. He is success driven and I believe still has the hunger for success and won't deviate from the path he set. Whether that be right or wrong, but it is what he believes and I think he has the balls to stick with it. If it is wrong it will be his undoing no doubt, but only time will tell.

As Craig says I while the kids are being given opportunity I have not got a problem with things and don't mind if it takes time if it brings us sustained success.

I have no doubt we will still have a couple on the list next year that will need to consider themselves lucky, but it will only be because we simply can't have all under 21's running around the park.

Completely different kettle of fish. Malthouse can do this because he has a solid core of senior players surrounding the kids he brings in. He can afford to do it at anytime of the year, because there is a solid groups there to support the youngsters. Something we don't have.

And would you like to tell us when our "hot part of the season" was exactly. I seem to have missed it this year. ;D
