Yep, dud keeper, he's just occupying the spot til Sam Harper is ready.

His keeping has been ok but his batting is terrible. The reasons for bringing him back were always flawed.

Geez, the No-Show is building a formidable test record.

12 Innings and the sterling average of 23.00

Only two of those scores above 23.

Front running fraud.

Two tests in India for a ton and a desperately unlucky 45, followed by one poor match. Turn it up, Leysy

The remainder of his record is from one-off opportunities when he was thrown in to open, bat 3, or 8, or anywhere in between.

Turn. It. Up.

Yeah that is true mate.

But still only averages 32 upon his return.

His shot yesterday - backing away and cutting first ball after lunch WTF!

Because he is a confidence player who lacks application - he will always be prone to a decent run of outs that will mean at best he will be prone to being in and out of the Test team. At best.

Think these guys should go on strike until their pay matches their performance!

"The hapless 11 who yesterday became the first Australian team to lose a Test to Bangladesh will be paid an average of $1.36 million from Cricket Australia this financial year, or about $26,000 a week. The team that humiliated them on a turning pitch are paid average salaries of just $26,136, or about $500 a week. Two players aren’t even contracted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board."

From Chip leGrand.

he does need to improve his concentration, but i reckon pure ability he can be a good test batsman. similar to Smith and Warner early days i reckon.

I didn't see the shot. But averages aren't worth the paper they're written on. If Maxwell had been brought in when he should have and got even half the easy runs that fraud Voges did, his average would be looking a lot better. Fact is, in three Tests back, he's played a matchwinning innings in one, was en route to another in the second before a very harsh umpiring call, and failed in the third, alongside most of his teammates.

Wade FFS , there could not be a more incompetent player in a specialised position in world sport that continues to represent his country.
