The Broad one was interesting.
Before all the technology, that was not out every day of the week and no-one would have complained.
Starc didn't think he hit it. I reckon even Broad himself didn't.
But with the technology there was no doubt.

And Kevin Pietersen is an infinitely worse commentator than anyone doing the AFL these days.

Agree Dane. Bit on the childish side.

The issue with the Moeen dismissal is that it appears the linework was badly done leaving the line wider than it should have been, therefore if the line was the right width he would have been not out.

What's everyone think of the triple M commentary team? Listened to quite a bit of it driving today. I don't mind people having a bit of a laugh. But trying to do it all day gets a bit grating.

Although I must say, I'm a sucker for Isa Guha's voice. So sexy, makes me melt (my Mrs hopefully isn't looking over my shoulder as I type this).

"in the spirit of the game"......but no let's keep playing like desperados looking for the cheap shot wickets.

Nothing cheap about either of them. They were both out. Broad knew he hit it, said so in the huddle while waiting for decision. When the Moen Ali one happened I thought it might be a bit controversial, but most pom commentators were fine with it.

Great win. Loved hazlewoods bowling second innings. Smith's ton. Cummins innings. Lyon. Great fightback win.

So "In the spirit of the game" doesn't apply to bowlers?

Can't recall looking at how the line was drawn but I didn't think he had anything grounded behind the line so correct decision. That said would prefer it to be umpire makes the decision and not go to replays couldn't see an umpire give that out without using technology and I would have been fine with that.

Looks the line just got fatter on the pitch. ;D

Same thickness as when he started batting. He shouldn't have got so far out. He just needed a toe behind the line. He didn't. He was out.

Gabba needs a new painter....

They touch it up during the match.

Hard to miss it though, and all know the rules. Blaming the line makes no sense, it’s not like they changed it whilst he was batting?

Ali could have gone either way.

Broad clearly out - unarguable.

Speaking of unarguable - The Tim Paine haters and there are plenty - many on here.

More than proved his selection first up.

Smooth as silk behind the stumps, didn't fumble a ball, was barely noticeable like all top keepers.

Dropped an unlucky one and made a very classy stumping.

Batting looked OK until getting an unplayable one against the new ball from Anderson.

Plays in Adelaide no doubt.

I'm happy to admit i was wrong about Paine, although my issues with selection were always more about Renshaw being dropped and SMarsh selected.

This was Smith's victory. Easily man of the match. Could not have won without his knock.

Agreed. His mental strength was amazing. They closed down many scoring avenues, but he still found a way.
