even Though Marsh is like a horse that doesn’t come out of the barriers, horrendous starter, he has to be in the conversation as next best after Warner and Smith, I think it says we’re we have been with our batsman in recent years, other then Marsh and Kawajha having multiple chances, there apppears to be a multitude of batsman who have been given an opportunity who just simply haven’t been up to it and again there appears to be some potential in the Shield but is there another Mike Hussey ? Or young Ricky Ponting ?

Marshs repeated chances and age probably tell the story of Australian Cricket right now.

Renshaw was clearly up to it yet gets dropped like a hot potato, and I'm still confident in Handscomb despite his unusual technique.

he was the incumbent who is 34yo and averaged under 20 for the series.

How did everyone else go that last series? Fairly useless stat in isolation.

How's his record since Feb 2014 (his re-emergence after a 2 year absence) - averages just under 44 - and 7 of his 18 tests have been against the worlds best team India. 2 tests against Sth Africa away, 2 tests against WI away, a test against Sri lanka away....when you look at it his form is pretty good - especially with no one else screaming out to be picked.

I like Renshaw too, showed the rare quality of valuing his wicket, in hindsight was he blooded too early ? Probably the wrong call , however I would have liked to see stay in the team for the Ashes, let him work his way through poor form. Bowling stocks look good, we also now have a keeper not a backstop a couple of top class batsman, now just to find another 3 or 4

Two intelligent bowlers are really exposing Handscomb’s technique. Hopefully, he can get further forward.

Renshaw will be back but has had a v ordinary 2017/18 so far.

Now that Maxwell is batting #3, is he a threat to Uzzie?

So good to see three quicks bowling with genuine heat.

Finally got the kids off to bed so I could have the TV and my night got off to a great start with starc trapping stoneham.

Cummins gets his first ball to sing and next thing I know the covers are out.

Damn you weather

Uzzie averages over 54 since his resurrection in late 2015. He's got the gig for a while IMO.

It would be a mistake to bat Maxwell at 3, move Marsh up to 3 and bat Maxwell at 6.

Renshaw averages 17.5 in his last 14 first-class innings.

He averaged 25 in his last 6 tests

Getting dropped wont hurt him.

Kevin Pieterson is an annoying commentator. High whiny voice and fakes the excitement a bit.

i reckon if Maxwell can get another 100 here for the Vics then he's a good chance to take Handscomb's spot? Another failure by Handscomb in the second innings and I reckon he's gone.

Another non event test series in Australia. God it’s just so boring the
Cricket . Hurry up footy !!!

Maxwell, the guy he replaced, averaged 40. Maxwell is 5 years younger, a better fielder and can bowl. he averaged the same as Marsh in the shield before the 1st test.

Marsh's average is boosted by a score of 160+ plus against a WIndies team that was hopeless. They were the basis of Voges averaging 50+ in tests and let him score 200+ not out in the same innings.

Bringing Marsh back in wasnt a terrible decision, but giving a guy his age and his record as many chances he has raises eyebrows.

I’m a maxwell fan but not gonna be critical of marsh. Almost 49% of his tests against the dominant side in world cricket and u pick one innings against a minnow as inflating the average?

Maxwell should replace hands comb he’s gonna get exposed for his poor technique eventually.

I’m not really a marsh fan but the criticism on here is crap when scrutinised.
