Still not convinced by Bancroft.
I think the fact is with our batsmen is we have one superstar, the best flat track bully on the planet and then a stack who show glimpses, play cameos but none can seem to find the consistency needed.

Perhaps but I don't think the decision to drop young Renshaw has been truly justified.

Thought he might’ve been a bit more circumspect considering he was “out” the ball before.
I must be living on the old rules. I thought that even part of the backfoot behind the line was not a no-ball.

Just got back from boxing day, Bancroft was *smile*, has a clear weakness against the short ball into his ribs that the poms waited far to long in trying to exploit.

Overall it wasn't the worst day but it was far from the best, mainly due to a poor pitch that was a slow road from the start of play. Just ridiculous that they prepare pitches like this and want entertaining test cricket. Warner and Smith head and shoulders above everyone else, Marsh survived but thats all.

Stupid price on the Scorchers to beat the Stars. $2.60 at home.

Especially with the Stars record at the Waca.
Three shield games at the G this season for 3 draws. Have taken the draw at $3.50, with the chance of rain, that's pretty good value i reckon.

Straya 164 runs behind with 2 days to play. England have made tbe pitch look like a road but so often the team batting next struggle and make it look like a different pitch.

We need to bat for 2 days!

What a pleasure it has been to watch a batsman with a conventional technique.
Well done Mr Cook.
No histrionics, just plays the game and scores a lazy 240 n.o

Yep.
Compare his acknowledgement of the crowd when he got his 100 compared to Warner's embarrassing victory leap.

It's a good thing the Australian Test team wins most of the time - otherwise following them would be a bit of a challenge at times.

Was it Anderson who said when Starc was going to be ruled out, that Aust bowling depth will be found out???

Well it has.

Granted the pitch isn't great but both sides have batted on it. We were poor in our innings after a good start and batsmen set. Some poor shots by our batsmen.

I reckon the match is towards the English.

Where was he when it mattered? Bought himself a few more tests on the back of a meaningless double.

No demons but will require patience in our batting. It's going to take the best part of a day to get back to parity (assuming we clean them up quickly today). How many down will we be? Any wickets above 2/180 odd and we will be worried.

But hey...we've won the Ashes :clap and we've won the Flag :clap ...Nothing will get us too worried.

Yes as you say patience in our batting is the key, Australian sides whether it be first or second innings haven't batted time since before the Steve Waugh era.

Smith, M.Marsh and Paine all chopped onto their stumps in the first innings, that wouldn't have happened to often. Might have dropped their guard a bit after regaining the ashes at the Waca.

Well heres a great opportunity for khawaja and Bancroft to make tons on a flat pitch in a meaningless test.
