Yes that’s right. The ball hit the stumps off his body. He was in his ground when the ball hit the stumps. I felt he should have been given the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway it was a bizarre wicket.
Yeah, definitely the benefit of the doubt. Saw George Bailey trying to squirm his way out of it post game.

Correct decision IMO.
He appeared to deliberately put himself between the fielders throw and the stumps.
It's against the rules.

He was running on that side of the wicket so if he stayed in a straight line would more likely be able to block the ball. He deviated away from the ball which IMO he should have been given the benefit of the doubt for. If it was the other way round it's probably the right decision, someone he deviates but moves further from the ball I have no idea why that's given out.

Some strange rules still exist in cricket. Take Joffra Archer for example, born in Barbados to a Barbadian mum and an English dad, but despite that (and seemingly being able to get a UK passport) cannot play for England until he has completed a whopping 7 years residency in the UK. Crazy rules that will rule out a top talent from playing International cricket as he wants to play for England, and also won't qualify to play for the Windies because of the WCB's ridiculous qualification rules for players having to play domestic cricket in the WI. In the majority of other sports, he could immediately play for that country as he would be a UK citizen by descent, but cricket......................

Maxwell def out of favour with those that matter.

Before the first test at the Gabba, S Marsh and Warner had niggles, the selectors broke out in a muck lather of sweat and flew Maxwell up to Brisbane. He wasn't required, has made a truck load of runs since, but now his form isn't good enough, go figure.

Funny thing is if the throw continued to Wade he would have made his ground by a mile by the time Wade took the ball to the stumps. So where does common sense come in? The only way he was going to get run out was by him knocking the ball onto the stumps like he did?

I can understand being given out in those situations where batsman run down the middle of the wicket to protect the stumps, and they are halfway down the pitch when the throw is made and they either get hit or interfere with the line but surely common sense dictated he could not possibly have been run out so no case to answer for interfering?

Maxwell the best one day/20-20 player in Aust. No one has his range of shots. Joke he is not in the one day side. Pathetic aust selectors.

You don't have a paltry average of 20 in your last 20 ODI's if you are the best in the country.

His current form in all forms not counting at all? State level, T20 form this season is outstanding.

Strike-Rate, situation when you come in etc not counting either?

Head averages just 5 more but his strike rate is 88 against 124 for Maxwell. Head's last 6 hits for Aust he averages 20.

you know this is not the place for facts LD

So you think he's not in the best 15 ODI/T20 players in the country? Why is he one of the first picked and highest paid by the IPL - they must no *smile*, just love wasting money?

Head got him covered?

The 20 innings sample goes back to cricket played 2 years ago.

A 12 innings sample sees Maxwell averaging a slightly more respectful 30.

His strike rate is amazing. Shows he takes more risks. He may be in career best batting form. Great fielder. Bowling record better than Heads. Anyone who picks Head in front of him has no clue.
