Won't surprise me if we bat like a team who only needs 4 an over and after dawdling to 2/70 after 20 we collapse without enough overs for the middle and lower order to get them.

What did they say CC? Not sure Smith is much of a captain and his influence on selection is too great.
As an aside, how come Sayers can't get a gig with a Big Bash team - he has to be miles better than some of the tripe bowled in that comp.
My thoughts on Smith as a captain.
He loves Travis Head and Mitch Marsh. He plays favourites.
Last year he gave Head 10 overs in each ODI and Maxwell got none.
Yesterday, and just in case Travis fails later on with the bat - he brings him on before Zampa, the number 1 spinner in the team. Head gets belted so Smith has to bring Zampa on.
Meanwhile, the poms are recovering slowly and Smith has been using one of his other favourites - Marsh.
After about 46 (ish) overs he reluctantly and finally gives the ball to Stoinis.
I may be wrong but I think the problem with our ODI team starts and ends with Smith.

Wasn’t happy with the fact he’d bought the part timer in Head on when he had a specialist spinner in Zampa, same with Marsh , also the fact he had set the field deep in stead of going for the kill, Clarke seemed a bit annoyed by the moves and was finding a lot of faults in his captaincy, Taylor agreed.jb03 said:
