its done and dusted cos Oct to March is also cricket season in NZ and SA. If we ever want to play them we have to tour there at this time of year.
Understand that but JS is making the claim and whingeing about the Oct-March season but then leaves it wide open for footy. If CA want to protect the 6 month season then maybe they’d want to schedule some cricket from other nations in Feb/March?

The current games dont get FTA cos Fox pay more. I assume the SA tour will be the same. International played in Oz are protected and have to be FTA, games overseas are not.
Got it. Seems odd Ch9 will pay for the Australian cricket but not NZ which is only a 2hr time difference (and not the UK or WI time difference)

The tail's wagging for Aust in the 3 day game against South Africa A. Aust have gone from 6-174, then 7-178, 8-225, 9-289 to 9/328, Cummins 57 not out.

Australia won the toss and are batting against South Africa in the first test and have gone in unchanged from the SCG test side.

I don’t have Foxtel so I thought one would be able to watch on cricket.com (even if paid for by subscription or the like) but no, it’s foxtel or nothing.

ABC Grandstand or SEN are broadcasting it.

Bancroft - poor technique for an opener. Walked at philander for some reason. Moves around way too much without balance.

Very, very poor from Bancroft, was batting outside his crease and then took two or three small steps forward as Philander was coming in to bowl.
It was as if he was playing T20, should get dropped for an effort like that.

Very dry pitch. Will be very hard to bat days 4 and 5. First innings even more critical.

Agreed MB.

Where's old mate Spook with his views, thought he'd be all over this series.

Could be one for the ages this one.

Have they locked the gates so the crowd can’t get in or something? Poor turn up from the Saffie cricket fans.

Renshaw must be scratching his head.

To me, Renshaw looked like an old style cricketer and one of the best red-ball openers we'd unearthed in years. Valued his wicket.
But he doesn't play the silly stuff so at the slightest sign of trouble he was gone.

Bancroft does so they will give him every chance.

Both Renshaw and Heazlett from Qld are the 2 batsman that id like to see come into the Australian side going forward to be long term performers.

Carey will eventually be the next keeper as Paine gives him time to develop.

Why do we keep throwing our wickets away? A wicket given up each day on the last ball of the session. Then Marsh, after totally earning a century, throws it away with a wild shot going for glory. Picked the wrong ball, when he only had to keep working the ball around. Then, post-century, could have ripped into any loose balls.

Need to play smarter.
