That makes it sound like it's not the first time they've done it at all. Just the first time they got caught.
 
Unbelievable, Sutherland has not spoken to Smith yet. Presser was interesting at the level at which Sutherland was almost attacked and questioned.

EDIT: Offisders have just pointed out that it looks as though Lehmann tried to warn the team when it began to break in social media so probably tried to cover it up and becomes complicit.

Agree with that Ian. Speaks of the culture created by the coach (and captain of course).
 
CA to send (just) two personnel to investigate. Expect a few beers and laughs together and sweep it under the carpet. All's good.

Yeah he deserved it, minimum he needed to state that Smith and Bancroft come home after this test, they have both admitted it.
 
Haven’t read others comments on the embarrassing situation yet , however it’s probably my dislike for both Warner and Smith, however I’d like them moved on from the game , cheats in sport are never forgotten and these two have been responsible for a massive blight on our great sporting nation and to put the kid of the team into that situation speaks volumes of the types of blokes our Captain an VC are. The Australian test captain used to be revered, that’s no longer thanks to a flog like Smith and furthermore to say he won’t step down is just self indulgent an pathetic.

I know they won’t be sacked, however if there not atleast suspended then CA is just as pathetic
 
Disgraceful cheats. While I would like suspensions to take place I doubt it would happen. It's not the first time players have been caught ball tampering and in each instance, I don't think there has been a single suspension for it, only fines against the player caught
 
If they needed a patsy to tamper the ball then why the hell didn’t they use Khawaja?

He’s expendable....

The 9 footy show cut to the Surherland the I left the room...when I came back in Tony Jines was saying we had to show that end but...mentioned the Tardeo s from AW ...was there some push and shove amongst the journos?
 
Best thing Cricket Australia could do is get Gilchrist involved, easily the most respected Australian cricketer in this millennium and spot on with his comments as always. Class act and one of the very few who played with the integrity and spirit in which Cricket was meant to be played.

If Australia is to limit the damage to our sporting reputation, not just cricket, we need to act fast and hard. Leadership group and Lehman sacked and banned from representing Australia for the next 10years.

Anything less is weak.

Players wont care. They will step down from local cricket and just play the T20 circuit.

At this moment I have some sympathy for Bancroft. It let's see how it plays out.
