Cricket

They could have saved a few hundred thousand and let me write these findings 3 months ago.

Problems have been evident for years.

I read Michael Vaughan described the new players code as cringeworthy. Agree a bit, “smile with us, dream with us”.

Poor form from Cricket Australia in not releasing the findings of the review into cricket before they re-elected Peever for another 3 years.

"The Australian Cricketers' Association is concerned the review findings were not made public before the AGM. Their two main adversaries from last year's pay war – Peever and Kevin Roberts – now hold the two key positions at Jolimont".

Concerning that the Chair, in his open letter, said the report was (in part) difficult to read, difficult to agree with. The first part is fair enough, but given that the report is a reflection of the views of stakeholders, including fans, I’d be pissed off if they spent any time trying to ‘correct’ our perceptions.

The arrogance is breathtaking.

Cricket in Australia is generally on the decline and has been for years - a combination of a stale out of touch leadership and a stale and out of touch media partner.

I wonder when the rot set in - was it under Ponting, Clarke or Smiths watch as captain - I feel Clarke’s but hey maybe just when things started to surface.

Sutherland should be gone now - not in 12 months - 17 years at the top is about 12 years to many (just ask Jeff)

Sutherland has gone, Roberts has taken over. However the report specifically sheets home the blame to the culture at CA as well as the players and Roberts was in charge of that culture, the players get punished the officials in part responsible get rewarded, no wonder the player association is up in arms.

If ever a workplace needed an external head come in it's CA.

Also weak as *smile* they don't dismiss Sutherland and Howard immediately. Beggars belief.

Yep, still not over how Sutherland caved into India's threats over Monkeygate, and threw Symonds under the bus. Weak as p!ss!

Jobs for the Boys.....CA is a mess and is an example of crap administration ruining the game.

As for cricket the PM's XI is playing the Saffas at Manuka today but you wouldnt know about it.

I used to go to Canberra all the time for these games, was a really enjoyable day out watching high class cricket at a lovely venue....... now to be honest IDGAF.

I find it hard to keep up with the cricket calendar. There’s an ODI v SA on Sunday!

So November is now ODI month (7 v SA & India)

December is test month (3 v India)

January has the Sydney test then it’s back to ODIs v India (3)

Then it’s back to test cricket v Sri Lanka in late January and early February (which i like as I hate it when the test cricket all over by the 6th January.)

And of course the BBL is in there over December/January/February.

Reckon AFL are equally in need of an outside head, sooner the better.

Australia off to a flyer in ODI v Saffa's. 3/8 in 6th over.

Not that we can even watch our national team play an ODI on freeview any more. Nah, the rights sold to exclusive Foxtel, of course, the cable arm owned by that American gnome who flogged off his Australian citizenship. But now they expect us to pay for his cable network to see our team play. GAGF!

CA will kill Australians love of cricket for certain; doing a top job so far. Team's going great too; we're really missing something!
