Matthews and Maralinga too good. How crap was Mitchell? hang on, run out... 9 for, scores tied, Murali comes out and game on again, briefly.

Can't believe we didnt win this.

I have not seen a ball yet...been watchin highlights of the Ryder Cup on FoxSports.

A couple of years ago, nothing would have kept me from watching the Aussies, now I could not care less. The test series will be a different story for me though.

Is/was there a game on?

Unbelievably I actually enjoyed the recent tests in India but it takes a lot to get me interested these days unfortunately.

You think he batted quickly enough brodders? Only one boundary.

slightly tongue in cheek, but i reckon he played a decent innings what i saw.

unlike in tests i think his place in ODI is warranted, just.

Clarke is a terrible captain.

No plan to deal with a possible onslaught from the Sri Lankans at the death. His bowlers looked clueless, and he spent the last 15 overs looking like he was panicing.

Showed zero emotion when they got the run out to have them 9 for as well. Really, the Lankans would have been a chance to run down that total if it were a 20/20 game,

And for those pushing White up for Captaincy, I'm not sure he is good enough to have a permanent place in the 50 over team.

Clarke was also laughing & joking around just as they were getting on a roll. Ponting has his faults but he keeps a far tighter ship than that.

Its very hard to see where our next captain is going to come from when Ponting hangs up the whites.

Clarke will probably be next skipper but he's not helping his cause at the moment. The selectors should look for another heir apparent.

I can't recall being so frustrated watching a game of cricket.
The Lankans were cruising and dealing with our over-rated bowling hacks.
Enter Doherty.
Then Smith.
Between the two them they took wickets and arrested the run rate.
Bewdy I thought. There's a message here for the selectors.

Then - unbelievably - Clarke decided to make a double bowling change.
Johnson got spanked for 10, 10 and 8 runs in 3 overs so no pressure from his end.
Siddle was terrible. Too short and wide.
Game almost over.

But with 20 needed, I thought maybe just maybe Smith would be given a chance to get Malinga out.
But no - Clarke turned to Johnson again who promptly got dispatched - again.
For the record:
Johnson 10 overs 1/68
Smith 3 Overs 0/8
You do the maths.

This is the worst captaincy I've seen since Under 10's when the Skipper asked me to open the batting.

Australian way used to be pick the best 12 (6-7 bats,1 wk,4 bowlers) & then pick the captain from that group. Ponting clear #1 . Clarke , Johnson & a couple of others (Hauritz + ?) nowhere near top 12 on form over the last year. Selectors too (Hilditch esp.) need to be sent packing for failing to follow this basic tenet . Clarke needs to forget about trying to be all things to all people & external commitments & just focus getting runs . Johnson has been indulged for too long & needs to be dropped to heed the call to get that damned left arm more vertical & bowl at the stumps more. His batting has also fallen away at a time when the middle order is more vulnerable that it’s been for some time.

Amazingly North's name has been mentioned as next test captain. Can't make runs but a possible captain, god help us.

I don't like that about Clarke, the fact that he always looks like he is joking around and is trying to be "one of the boys". Doesn't have that air of authority about him that past skippers like AB, Tubby, Tugga and even Punter have.

They are talking about North being the next captain now. god help us.
