Clarke looked very uncomfortable and really seemed to be troubled by his back. Poor selection from our esteemed selectors in picking someone not fully fit

Don't know if you should blame the selectors as much as Clarke himself. Presti ruled himself out of a Grand Final cause he knew he wasn't right and didn't want to let his team mates down. Well Clarke would surely have had the ultimate say of whether he played, he knew how bad his back was.

And to think he is seen as a possible future captain.

Hussey playing shots, which is good. He looks better in this mode.

Starting to get some confidence back?

Don't know if anyone saw the first ball of his innings, but he was very lucky to survive it. It was a pretty good ball, but you wouldn't have expected it to knock him over. Edged just in front of Broad at slip.

Amazing what middling a few can do for your confidence.

I was watching. Clarke seemed to be troubled by some very good bowling, not a bad back.

Disagree lucky luke.
I was watching too btw and the way that bouncer cannoned off his helmet seemed to suggest he was very troubled by it.
Looked very stiff at the crease and seemed to lack his usual footwork.

Questions should be asked.

Hussey on the other hand didn't seem troubled at all. Looked like the Mr Cricket of old today.

Good to see Hussey finally get some runs, but I guess he was going to get some eventually. I too have a soft spot for him, but he has been given a charmed run over the past couple of years- lived off past glories.

North must go- feast or famine for him- more often than not he goes hungry.

Clarke's form has been pretty ordinary since at least the start of the Indian series. I reckon he has been lucky that North and Hussey have been under the spotlightas he has escaped a bit of scrutiny of late. I dread the prospect of him being our captain.

Hopefully Johnson can make some runs because it seems he is in the side for his batting rather than his bowling ATM.

Going to be a good finish to this test I reckon (weather permitting).

The third umpire has the ability to review every decision between balls, and should. Anderson should have had Hussey LBW but they were out of appeals. Makes a joke of it. Get rid of the referral system and just have the third umpire whisper a quiet word in the umpire's ear: "Hang on mate, might have to have a look at that". Easy.

Yes, it should have nothing to do with the players requesting it.
