I still think we will win the series, but the one thing that has to improve is our catching. We will not get 20 wickets in a match if we drop one or two each innings, because the English will not give that many chances.

Excellent point on the catching Streak.

On a wicket that has really flattened out you need to take your chances.

As Navy types Clarke just dropped a sitter. Think we've put down 4 this innings.

Our fielding standards have dropped considerably in recent years also.

Scooper has fallen back in love with cricket over the last four days and I have barely watched a ball.

I always try and pinch 4 or 5 days late November down at Sorrento to fire yourself up for the Christmas rush. Took a few books down (Richo and Cuzzy books are must reads burnt through them in a couple of days, superb) and just put the radio on ABC cricket. Get on the balcony on the day bed, read and have the cricket on overlooking the water or watching the rain come in. Just recharge before the rush. Besides Warne there is no one I want to hear on nine, tried watching a session but it was a nightmare, ads, product placement and Two and Half men reminders. Just rubbish.

Would rather listen to Kerry O' Keefe and Jonathon Agnew rabbit on about what Indian place they are going to have dinner at. ;D The cricket talk is also so much better. Maybe cause it is was background noise, maybe because I was relaxing by the bay but I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed the cricket so much.

Navy's done a bit of driving for work & pleasure during the test so have taken in a lot of the ABC.

really is excellent listening isn't it.

Agnew is a ripping commentator.

Yeah it just makes it so much more enjoyable.

The stories Agnew told about meeting Maggie Thatcher & The Duke of Edinburgh were gold.

CH 9 have just lost me. The cricket is just one big ad.

Only problem with the ABC is Glen Mitchell

Poms 1/343,this is embarassing

Even moreso now- 1/440. Can't believe it to be honest. Even in the dim, dark 1980s we never saw scorelines like this. The GABBA fortress has been well and truly stormed.

Utterly demoralising. Going to be very difficult for us to recover from this in time for Adelaide.

May need to go in with a completely new attack. Bring in Harris and Doug, get rid of Johnson and Hilfy.

It may just be time to start a youth regime in australian cricket. Give the kids some hope that they will get a game before the age of thirty and we may just see a lot more youths playing the sport. The thing that shocks me the most is that players like Hilfenhaus are just stagnating. The bloke either doesnt seem all that smart or has terrible coaching. For a bloke that can move the ball both ways he seems to bowl too short and too wide.

Too short and too wide would be a kind way to describe Johnson. Its as if he gets paid just to get the ball on the pitch.

Not sure what all the angst is about.

Sure, our attack isn't what it used to be. But gee, the pitch is like concrete, and both batsmen are well and truely set.

They are clearly trying to make a statement, but to me it is interesting that they don't appear to be trying to set us an achievable target to try and get the win by knocking us over. They will not have the time now. Still not totally confident in their own abilities?

If the poms don't want to win and are intent on just wearing our bowlers out then it's time to give our lads a rest and bowl hussey, katich, clarke and north.
If we don't we'll lose the Adelaide Test.

No matter what the pitch is like, 1/500 is not good.

Would rather them not be 1/500 but its a dead game now so it doesnt really matter. I know there's a train of thought that it gives them confidence for the next test but I reckon thats crap. If that were the case then they would have been unconfident after we went from 5/144 to 478.

What it does mean is that Johnson has got to go. Enough is enough. Same for North.

Anyone know what is the highest score in a test match when the 2nd wicket has fallen?

Surely this would have to be close?

The angst is that australian cricket is fast becoming crap. 1 for 500 on any wicket is a joke.

Good question 1/509.What a woeful bowling & fielding performance.Cook could get 300.
