Cricket

Johnson is a hack and a libility who undermines our whole attack.....should never don the baggy green again. Even forcing Tait to play Tests again and only bowl 20 overs a match would be a better option.

Despite his first day heroics, Siddle is a typical Victorian quick, the epitome of mediocrity, another Merv, can be good as a workhorse or for short spells of sustained aggression, but ultimately a useful 3rd prong, nothing more.

Hilfenhaus is just a nothing up and down bowler.

O'Keefe & Krezja are both better options than Doherty.

Bollinger in for Johnson, Smith in for North. Khawaja for Clarke.

Seriously need to consider the likes of Copeland and Cameron as well.

Middle order is still too fragile. Virtually no runs at all from Ponting Clarke or North in the first innings, Hussey rode his luck.

Our tail failed to wag at all, capitulated far too easily again.

Fielding standard has dropped woefully, too many passengers. This is another reason we need someone like Smith.

At some point we have to get Hughes back in the side. We need his fearless approach.

The side as a whole is mentally weak, lacks composure and is far too vulnerable under pressure. Ponting tactically is no better or worse than Waugh was ...but apart from not having the weapons at his disposal that Tugga had, he also has deplorable body language. That's why Waugh was a better leader. He's biggest flaws tactically are taking in form bowlers off too quickly, no faith in his spinners (Though no Warne or McGill remember), too much faith in Johnson , sets his midwicket fielders too deep and doesn't position his behind the wicket fielders properly...and he's way too reactive.

Looks like Poms have declared, fortunately they haven't given themselves enough time to bowl us out.

We need to get through to stumps unscathed to at least retain a shred of dignity.

I hope the road which produced 1 wicket in almost 2 days of cricket doesn't suddenly change just because we bat and they bowl...

Be suprised what a new ball and bowling in the right spots can do!

As long as we don't lose more than 2-3 wickets we'll come out with some credibility

Katich out for 4.

Surely not ???

Amazing isn't it? We go for a day without getting a wisket and then one of our openers goes in the first few overs.

If we lose a few quick ones panic may set in...

Good batting practice for Ponting now.

We're not going to lose 9 wickets in a session

The lowly Pakis virtually bowled us out in a session (around 35 overs)twice in the past year. On those occasions conditions helped, but such is our current mental fragility, anything's possible.

Any other NSW players you would like to bring in, maybe Lee, Clark, Surprised you mentioned Krejza ahead of Hauritz, O'Keefe or Greg Matthews. There are cricketers from other states than NSW.

Have another cry Dean Jones. Biggest population, biggest talent pool. Get over it.

More turds per population too.

I'm not bias like you and can look outside my state, in fact think only White is deserving of a test spot.
I never liked Dean Jones just think there are good cricketers that exist outside the *smile* infested city of S#itney.

Hope the selectors dont fall for the Bollinger/Smith hype and pick them.

Would like to see Ryan Harris come into the 12 with Cameron White/Shaun Marsh come in for North and Clarke who is clearly not fit.

Bollinger must come in for Johns.Would Harris be a better option than Hilfy? Not sure myself.l reckon they'll play North & Clarke.
