Whilst dean Jones is bit of a w#nker he was dropped from the Aust side after leading the averages on a Sri Lanka tour just before the Aust summer.

Maybe, but it was the type of decision that really turned us into a cricket superpower. If only we'd had selectors over the last 5 years with the same level of guts.

Good to see Johnson droppped but it seems North has escaped the noose....again! When will Cox, Boon, Hilditch et al grow some balls and drop the dud North?

Why not bring in Smith.

Much better fieldsman, much better bowler and much better batsman.

Alright followers. Its about time we start the xmas kitty.

First up we like Australia in the 2nd test. We think the bowling change to the side will help. But mainly there has been a massive over-reaction to the 1st test where Australia were the best side for the first 3 days.

Now this is on an Adelaide pitch where a draw is a definate chance so we will be backing Aus in the "Draw no Bet" market. Which means if it is a draw all bets are refunded.

The market is Aus $1.95 V Eng $2.05

We obviously get less odds than the traditional match odds, but we think its prudent to have the Draw on-side.

So we'll have some of the $1.95 thanks followers.

Now also we like the look of one in the most runs for Aus in the series market. The angry ant Ricky Ponting looks even more determined than usual & could be up for a big series from here on in. The signs were there in the 2nd dig at the Gabba that a big score could be very close. He is giving Hussey a decent but not insurmountable start here. The market is -

Hussey - $2.90
Watson - $5.20
Ponting - $5.40

We'll take the $5.40.

Hopefully our very succesful 2010 can continue. Good luck all.

It is certainly insinuated that Ricky wanted Johnson retained.
He contradicted himself later on when he seemed to defend his omission.

Done. I am onboard. Going to take Watson as well.

Your reading too much into the headlines navy thinks Tooheys.

Fair bit of journalistic licence trying to make a story INO.

Sounds like Ponting was just trying to distance himself from the selectors decision. Considering Johnson could be back into the side before the series is out thats fair enough. He's just trying not to take sides.

& this doesnt sound like a man really keen to play Johnson at adelaide -

"The selectors felt (Johnson) was down on a bit of form and down on a bit of rhythm. That was probably highlighted in the last game.

"Test match cricket is hard enough without having to find things in the middle of a Test. He's got time before the Perth Test to hopefully rediscover some of that rhythm."

Katich ran out without facing a ball after crickets worst fielder Jonathan Trott hits one stump. 1/0. :-[
