Fingers crossed Ricky can lead by example from now on in and help Australia reclaim the Ashes.
Won,t happen on both fronts Rosella.Pontings best is past him while most of the batsman around him are not much better.
While we have selectors who havn,t got the balls to drop North and the very fact that Clarke is playing injured[being selfish],we have no chance of getting the ashes back.

C'mon guys, we will still draw this match. In fact, despite losing 3 early wickets, I still reckon we are the only team that can win this match.

Unfortunately for England, we are likely to get the best of the batting and bowling conditions on this pitch.

On another tangent, how good does the Adelaide oval look.

The re-development looks to have kept all of the grounds character.

Certainly the most beautiful cricket ground in the country.

Thought that too Navy. Looks in great nick and they have done a great job with it all. Well done to them.

Of course we were expecting a better innings. Doesnt mean its finished as you said.

I already explained I wasn't referring to Ricky being finished. I wasn't referring to your betting and didn't mention it as you said. Who knows what lies ahead. I was simply referring to your actual comment about Ricky shortly before he had a massive fail. At least mb took the comments lightheartedly, and un"bemused"ly, as they were intended. Funny stuff. :hihi

We need to get at least 400 in the first innings IMO. Still obviously well short of that.

Agree there Philster,

400 is the pass mark. Typically very few tests are lost if you get that in the first innings.

But I would think very achieveable. As the English showed in the last test, when you apply yourself and bat to your strengths, you can build massive totals.

I'd put money on us getting to 400 in this innings, and if we make 500, we might even win if the pitch takes spin late.

Dont think anyone can say that wasnt an entertaining session. ;D

Top attacking fightback by Watson & Hussey sees the match evenly poised.

Certainly arent any demons in the pitch that will stop Aus posting a very good score.

50 to Watson, can't believe people still don't rate him as an opening batsman.
Batted very well from what I read on CricInfo. Technically he is great to watch....his driving is right out of the manual.

Needs to go on with it now and get a big score, having survived the hardest part of his innings.

If I have one criticism it is that he doesn't convert enough starts into big scores.

Maybe so but Watson is the least of our problems.

Agree with that MB...he has been the most consistent of our top 6 ever since he came back into the side in England a couple of years back.

He and Katich are the only two batsmen we have in the test side who have shown anything resembling form for the last 12 months really. Maybe throw Haddin into that mix as well.

Who pumped up Watson

I did say he doesn't convert enough starts into big scores. He has done that again today.

Pressure on North now. He needs to make runs in this situation, otherwise his career should be over.
