Cricket

One of the few papers not to put the story on its front page was The Independent.

But it still grabbed a slice of the action with columnist Matthew Norman suggesting Hurley was acting in the national interest.

"The true explanation, assuming for the moment that the paper's claims are proved accurate, is that Liz was driven by the patriotic instinct to keep Warne in London, and prevent him from returning to Australia to revive that ailing Ashes side," he wrote.

"She did what nicely bred girls routinely did in the age of Empire. She lay back, gawd bless her, and thought of England."

;D

lol evo

& yeah no-one would begrudge Hodge coming out once & saying his piece.

But it seems every second week the woe is me article arises. Needs to get a grip or people will get sick like some already it seems are.

Keith obviously has potential & will be fast tracked, but has to step up at first class level to be classed with Maddison for navy.

Come on Navy, still waiting on obtaining your opinion on what Keath (with 1 first class game) has to do to be classed with Maddinson ( 3 first class games).

Brad Hodge, please be quite.

You are starting to sound like a jilted lover.

Bit harsh scoop, what do you expect him to say? He's been crucified by the selectors and now you want to crucify him for telling it how it is?

Reckon Hauritz has been hard done by as well

Awful oversight by someone in todays Hun:

"Forty years on, Benaud recalls 'the greatest Test'" by Ray Thomas, Sydney

"Richie Benaud is adamant the 1960 tied Test between Australia and the West Indies is the greatest Test of all time. Only a few thousand spectators were at the Gabba EXACTLY 40 years ago today to watch the frenetic final over......"

40 years ago? That would make 1970 wouldn't it? Who gets the blame for such an error, the sub-editor?

And Hauritz himself hasnt been backward in coming forward with his opinion of the selection panel nor has Doherty to a lesser extent.

Seeing as you seem so desperate to hear Navy's justification.

Navy made a simple observation that for Keath to be ranked alongside Maddinson as an elite talent looking to higher honours he first needs to perform at national level. Maddinson has had 12 knocks now & averages over 40 across all forms whilst looking even above that class already. Keath will likely do that as he has a lot of ability but until he does...

As an example Mitch Marsh was touted as the best youngster in the country but hasnt been able to step up as yet.

Do you disagree with that view?

Sounds fine to me Navy. Your initial post may have been interpreted as you saying that Keath didn't have the class of Maddinson hence me asking why.

Agree, and Tim Neilsen saying tonight that Johnson was superb bowling in the netss today was just about the last straw for me.
