Cricket

If there is anything more boring than people not caring about cricket anymore, it is people posting in a cricket thread about how much they don't care about cricket anymore.

So if the "script" goes according to plan the Poms will score easily and quickly now.

I agree, seems that a lot of people liked it when we crushed other teams, but can't stand taking a beating now the roles are reversed.

Sure things aren't going so great right now, but toughen up Princesses.

Rolled for 260-odd and they hit a SIX in the fourth over ... of a TEST!!!

We are being treated with absolute contempt. Bent over big time.

It's not all his fault but I think Ricky should go. Change needed everywhere.

I'd keep Ricky, no one else with any leadership in the team at the moment.

I reckon Clarke and Hussey are on thin ice, despite the latters recent form.

We need to blood a few more batsmen and stick with them come hell or high water, then look to our bowling attack and find some talent that we can develop up to the required level.

Clarke should be made to come out in skirt in the 2nd innings then dropped with his papers stamped.NOT TO PLAY FOR AUSTRALIA AGAIN.

Agree on Clarke ... quintessential modern day gen-y softie.

But Hussey? Sure, age does come into it but let's not forget he didn't start playing Test cricket until he was 30-odd and he is by a country-mile the only bloke we can rely on. I'd have his brother in the team for the rest of this series, too.

Keep Watson and Haddin and forget the rest, turn over some kids.

Never really thought Ponting was a great captain. OK, 2009 and this series he never had the cattle but 2005 will forever be his black mark. They should make Hussey captain for a year or two while someone else is blooded.

Siddle's first over looked good.
Yeh, he's the only one who looks like having even a slight chance.

Nevertheless, I reckon Engerland will make 4 fitty

There is obvious talent to work with, its more a question of why tactically and gameplan wise we just lack any success. This whole look to the 28+ year olds who have done their dues in 1st class isnt working.

Agree with this. Even Beer is already 26. Gilchrist was almost 28 when he played his first Test. Whatever happened to the days of identifying the talent when they were 20-21-22 ?

Actually this is incorrect, at least as far as I am concerned Pitch Invader.
If anything I'm giving more of a sh!t now than when we were dominating but still not very much.
Cricket has been losing me for a long time now before these current woes.
Winning or losing doesn't really come into it.

I didn't mean everyone, but a fair bit of what I hear now is sour grapes IMO.

You stick by your team like we do with the Tigers. Clearly the Australian Test side is now in need of major renewal and there will be a painful transition to the new order. But some of the dumping on them that is going on is ridiculous.

The Poms had to put up with mediocrity and getting smashed by us for 24 years. We need to be more mature in our approach to handling the current situation.

I agree that retiring Ricky would send a message about refreshing the team. He is one of our best 5 ever batsmen but probably one of our worst five ever skippers.

The problem is that Clarke is not stepping up - horrible shot yesterday - and Hussey would only be a short term answer.

The NSW media successfully promoted Smith and Hughes and we should not be surprised at the result. Klinger is a mile ahead of Hughes and White is two miles ahead of Smith. How do you select a guy averaging less than 30 in first class cricket for the season?
