Cricket

Good to see the Aussies finally making a contest of it. An excellent session. Hopefully they will keep it going after lunch.

How is that different that those that continue to put down RFC players when there is a thread about them ?
"Dud" "Dumb Footballer" etc over and over.
By comparison those you claim are not interested in cricket in this thread have all expressed their dissapoint at losing passion for the game they once loved.
Very different Baloo.
Just because you maintain a certain player is a dud etc doesn't mean you have no interest in their progress - if anything you are more interested in it in order to proclaim some superior judgement when your assessment is proven eg Mcmuppet. Although there are instances where egg ends up firmly on ones face eg Kingy. Or, you are waiting for your call of dud to be justified - eg your poster boy McGuane.
In this thread there is the continual call of no interest in cricket from a number of posters, yet these posters continue to post said disinterest. Why post if you have no interest? Doesn't worry me if you want to criticise selectors/players etc, but why post that you aren't interested?

Johnson is a different bowler with the arm high, rhythm smooth and inswinger working. Pie thrower to lethal weapon. Remedial nets work proved to be the tonic.

Cheers BCL, you have a point, but you've also given me a good insight into the mindset of the Dud callers and their need to be seen as superior judges.

Despite his good spell l don't believe all his problems are behind him.

Remedial work surely helped, but I think what Johnson needed most was a rest. Technique goes pretty quickly when you are fighting your own body.

Marked improvement with his work and rest, he is a massive key and must be got back into stride.

Aussies MUST go into 2nd dig with a lead ....... hoping they dont ease up and let the Poms back in....................................

Inferiority complexes perhaps you think?

Superior probably not the right word. More like looking for confrimation of an assessment.

Maybe some like to call as they see it? For others things aren't so black and white?

Anyway, another wicket in the cricket, reckon those disinterested souls might be enjoying the days play?

I didn't mean everyone, but a fair bit of what I hear now is sour grapes IMO.

You stick by your team like we do with the Tigers. Clearly the Australian Test side is now in need of major renewal and there will be a painful transition to the new order. But some of the dumping on them that is going on is ridiculous.

The Poms had to put up with mediocrity and getting smashed by us for 24 years. We need to be more mature in our approach to handling the current situation.

Its also ridiculous to group us all together. I spent many years following the aussies when we were terrible, I never want it to go back to that. When you see the talent we have it is just so frustrating to see it not guided and able to reach its potential.

Should we bat well we are definately in with a huge chance to upset the poms and possibly change the series. Good work by Mitch and Harris, Hilfy also kept up the pressure without luck.

How good was that!

Aussies home now.

We were also meant to be home after the first innings in Brisbane as well and we lead by 220 there.

We only lead by 81 here, there`s a long way to go before we get anywhere near winning this,we could still quite easily lose this Test.
