The pitch seems to have some life in it, but I am not sure we have enough runs on the board at the moment.

Still reckon we need 450 to be safe, hope I am wrong.

Hussey looks like he will be stranded. The way the poms are going through our tail we will be a bit short of a safe score.
Our bowlers will need to back up their good performance in the first innings and get amongst them straight away, we can't afford a good opening partnership from them.

Just how much has this review system changed the game? I thought video reviews of run-outs and neutral umpires was the best thing for it, but this might be topping it. It's not how it directly effects the game, but it's the indirect impact. Cook wanted to review his decision and Strauss said No! Obviously Strauss thought it was out, or at the very least he thought it wouldn't get overturned.

Also I reckon it removes the "orchestrated appeal". Because if the umpire gives it, it will get reviewed and overturned. If he doesn't give it, then the fielding team has to either waste a referral or admit that they tried the con.

It could yet be seen to be the most significant change for the better for many many years.

no surprise the indians dont want it

Hussey is back to the old Mr Cricket who burst onto the scene a few years back. It has been a stunning form reversal. I wasn't alone in thinking he was gone. And I was wrong about Johnson. I have had a bad run! Go Aussies!

But still with a huge question mark over 3 of our top 4 batsmen.

No doubt Ponting will play with a broken finger. I thought Clarke showed a few little signs in his second knock of 20 here, but I am far from convinced. If the MCG will take any spin, he will stay. He is our best player of spin by some distance.

But mentally, who knows?

Tassie just flogged WA by 10 wickets, Cosgrove 86 NO from 53 deliveries !!!

inside 2 1/2 days

Good win by the Tigers. Cosgrove again puts his name in front of the selectors, he's been consistent this year. Made batting on a difficult wicket look easy.

Mickey Arthur has his work cut out with WA.

Really not sure what the problem is over here. We seem to have enough young talent around, but it just doesn't seem to florish at Shield level.
