This is great. Now England's turn to respond.

If Melbourne doesn't take any significant spin, England might be in some trouble.

Imagine if it is 2-1 to us with an SCG test to finish. Sensational series.

l think we need to win in Melb, then the pressure is right on the Poms.Worried what Swann might do in Sydney.

Poms are terrible. How did we ever lose to them?

I think the poms just forgot this momentarily. Collingwood batting before Bell is ridiculous. Strauss is in poor form, was lucky to get runs in the first dig here and just survived in Bris before getting his ton. Could have had 5 failures from 5 hits.

Maybe we can answer that after the next test.

Looking ahead to the world cup in India, Bangers and Sri Lanka early next year. Good to see we have named a strong squad of thirty. These are the teams who I think the selectors might go with;

MY PROBABLES V MY POSSIBLES

1 Watson 1 Marsh S
2 Haddin 2 Paine
3 Ponting 3 Hodge
4 Clarke 4 Ferguson
5 Hussey D 5 Hussey M
6 White 6 McDonald
7 Smith 7 Hastings
8 Christian 8 Harris
9 Johnson 9 Doherty
10 O'Keefe 10 Siddle
11 McKay 11 Starc

Players who I reckon will miss out from the squad for one reason or another will be Bollinger, Lee, Pattinson (whom I haven't seen much of), Tait, Hauritz, Voges and Warner, with Hopes being unlucky as well.

Mystery absentees are Hughes, Khawaja, Nannes and Copeland. I would have thought the first two names would be a cert in the first squad. Jeez, Kwaj isnt getting any younger......and Nannes, not even in the squad??? Is he injured?
One thing I noticed is the slim opening choices available. Expect a middle order bat to open with Watson regularly.

I'm not sure if i'm over rating this squad, but it seems we have a good shot....we have a lot of depth in all positions except in the openers position. I guess as usual it will depend on the selectors. Please don't pick Brett Lee... please!

Mitchell Johnson has reminded everyone that on his day he is the best cricketer in the world.

Unfortunately the MCG wickets have been dead all season, as they have been pretty much every season in living memory, bar the 89/90 greentop against Pakistan. Plenty of work to do yet. Bouncy and grassy should be the order for the last two Tests.

Don't discount confidance, we would of got heaps out of this last test. Poms confidence is eroded.
Green, green , grass of home....please!!!
